I need to wake up when watching the news...

All major TLDs are taken now.

Edit: He's had it since 2000 (eh, it's been registered since 2000 - no drops)

I got eSwineFlu.com last night.

The one that really shocked me (and I got) was iBirdFlu.com last night also. BirdFlu for sure has been in the news much more.

i don't register such domains as their success relies on the death of many.

Their success relies on getting the message out to hundreds of millions of people - right now that includes the entire countries of Mexico, USA, and even Canada.

I am adamantly against horrific event gratuitous regs.

This is a field I am deeply involved in and all too glad to be able to utilize not only my medical skills but also advertising, marketing skills and what little development skills I know.

I am not so interested in deaths as I am in prevention.

Do you know how to prevent the spread of Swine Flu? Bird Flu?

Do you know the number one thing you can do for prevention and spreading this disease?

I am more on the education end at this point. I have already been briefed on all the signs and symptoms and what to expect, how to handle, how to isolate.

My hospital and the hospital my wife works at has already issued notices that any one who has been to Mexico within the last 7 days is NOT to report to work but to report to employee health daily for the next 7 days. This is purely precautionary. It does no good to get staff ill taking care of or spreading an illness.

I do not take it lightly. Nor do I overlook the fact that 4.5 billion people on this planet have a mobile phone. I will not wait for them to come to me. I will go to them. I am but one of hopefully millions carrying the news.

Wash your hands often and call out (from work) & don't go out when you're sick?

You are the exception, Doc. Most are only regging these types of domains in hopes of parking revenue.

And your point is? One's own moral high-ground is another persons gold waiting to be exploited.

Big deal if people are making parking revenue. You don't think the New's Corps are making cash off this? It's no different than ANYTHING else.

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, I'm more moral than another person. It's all a matter of perspective.

Of course but I am not going to reg names and sit around hoping 1000's die so I can make a couple hundred bucks from parking. The new's corps are pathetic fear mongers. I am not going to feed the fire. I couldn't care less if you and others are. Its just my personal opinion.

And wonder why laws are pending to strike a heavy blow to domainers and why lawmakers are drooling waiting for the passage of all these bills.

If you shoot yourself in the foot be glad you didn't have the barrel pointed in the opposite direction.

You are the exception, Doc. Most are only regging these types of domains in hopes of parking revenue.
I don't think I am the exception. I would imagine that a ton of people are looking for prevention, control, ways of stopping it from spreading.

It is hoped if they do end up on a parked page they find what they want.

This is nothing like the Virginia Tech massacre regs.

That was a different story.

And everyone is entitled to it just as yourself. I just think domainers react in the same way everyone else does. They see something they write it down, tell someone, and in a domainers case, I think do both of those two things and also register a domain.

If they make money that's business. Just like the best selling network television airtime goes to tragedy stories in the news. Why? Because people make money. I just don't see how it's (domain ads vs. tv ads) different than anything else.

People just run to their computer faster nowadays and type-in this stuff vs. watch TV.

Sorry for ramblin' it's just how I see that aspect.

No wrong.
Swine Flu had epidemic that happened few times over the centuries.
Most of them are reg in 2005 some are different time.
Maybe the ctld are reg past week but the .com are reg earlier than that.

My issue with the media argument is that is their job.

Just as it is their job to report how much domainers abuse the system by regging and redirecting, TM issues, and - yes- cybersquatting.

I have yet to read or hear a heart felt tale of a do gooder domainer in the media.

In the end, the media wins by playing into the hands of the lawmakers who play into the hands of the consumer.

Trying to do battle against mainstream media is futile.
