After Iraq, I couldn't think of a better candidate....

Assad is not much better than Saddam. He maintains an occupation force in Lebanon. He constantly uses his terrorists to provoke Israel (by the way over Lebanon's border, and not his own). He brutally represses his own people. He has zero electoral legitimacy.

I would not be too sad to see him go. If he did, I bet you'd see a remarkable "shift" in the attitude of the Palestinians - suddenly realizing that most of the regimes who actively supported their use of violence have disappeared.

Peace in our time? Possible, but not with autocratic monsters.

We're there already ... and in force. Will be a tough decision, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.
God Bless to all.

Bush is insane.

They haven't found bin Laden, so far they haven't found any chemical or biological "mass destruction" weapons in Iraq, so now it's Syria who's next?

Like, until they finally find just *ANYTHING* anywhere to "justify" their attacks on other countries?!

Hey, maybe germany is next because we "harboured" the one guy in the 911 machine?

Geez..

Syria is next in line and there is no doubt about it.

Although getting rid of "terrorists" and acquiring new resources
might actually help our economy, I think it will come at a great
price.

Actually we already found chemical weapons in Iraq. So i don't know what you've been smoking. Not to mention there was a cease fire agreement which ended the first gulf war in which Saddam never intended to honor.

The anti-war idiots in Germany should be well embarrassed given the celebrations that took place after the fall of Saddam (including ones taking place in Germany with Iraqi exiles waving American and British flags). Beatz weren't you the fool who said most Iraqis supported Saddam. Sorry, but you've lost all credibility. You're ridiculous claims are on par with those of the Iraqi information minister.

I just think it is a shame that the U.S. and British spent so much effort in the cold war to defend Germany from the communists, wall. only to have them be voted into office after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

I think we've heard about enough from the coalition of the whining. Its time for them to pipe down.

The price of terrorist actions will be steep.
The war on terrorism has just begun.
Its not a game anymore. The USA has been fortunate not to have it on our soil. But its all different now since sept 11.
The terrorist morons dun-*ucked-up.

Any country harboring or promoting terrorism will be next.
They've left us no choice. They've brought it to our shores and we can no longer ignore it.

Wrong. We found what we THOUGHT was chemical weapons, and the media reported that we had found chemical weapons, but laboratory results later showed otherwise. The warhead that showed positive for chemical weapons was later proven to be negative. The substance they found on a farm they thought was chemical weapons was later found to be pesticides. Today CNN reported that again they have found what they believe may be chemical weapons in "mobile laboratories". We'll see if this turns out to be the smoking gun, but as of yet we haven't found what we thought we would.

Yeah, and the batteries in the jail were just for jumpstarting their tanks!

And the meat hooks were for hanging sides of beef.

And Jessica Lynch broke her own arms and legs!

And the 150 women Uday Hussein raped were all lying.

And those several thousand "gassed" Kurds all died of, ... of... SARS!

I'm sure Saddam was a real warm, frendly kind of guy, who loved his neighbors and respected the God given rights of all humans! Just like his buddies Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Edie Amin, and of course the grandfatherly Mr. Milosovitch!

"Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it"
Thank you Mr. Bush, for learning.

So whats your point ?

Over 30 Ruthless regimes in the world, Do we simply move on to the next one?

Well wait we cant do that..we have to spend 200 Billion first to pay for this debacle...

And guess what..Bush didnt even get Hussien , or his sons or hardly any of Iraqus cruel regime, just like Bush didnt get Bin Laden..

what he is able to do is bomb the hell out of a couple countries and force the terroist underground where at this moment they are working on how they can kill you..

Like I said from the beginning..

All of this could have been taken care of with a $2 bullet.. Yep thats right , one of his son's or some other dickhead will try and still maintain rule with the same reign of terro.. so anothe r $2 ..

With a $4 investment I could have changed regime in Iraq ! Twice !

Without screwing up the water supply, the electrical grid and killing thosands of people .

Trust me ..you do this once or twice and these dickheads will start behaving..

But no..Bush has to play Cowboy on the American Taxpayers dime, but to distract from this expense he his going to give you a big fat refund.. so we go even further in debt.

Do you all realize how silly you look bent over with your little flags flapping in the wind suppporting this idiot ?

Hey bidawinner, I certainly agree that taking Saddam out would have been quicker and less expensive! But might have created a power vacuum and perhaps just led to another dictator! I don't think that will happen now.

I'm sorry, but I just believe there are times when we have to stand up to these bad guys! It's never been easy or inexpensive.

If first Britain then the US had not fought back Hitler, he might have taken over and kept all of Europe.

I am no fan of war, but I am in favor of freedom from oppression, murder, and rape. If there was a "next", I would hope it was N. Korea!

By the way, I am not a mindless flagwaver. I am a very well informed and educated American. I have enough respect for you that I can disagree without trying to insult you. I hope you can do the same.

And DomainRetriever, as to the alleged CNN "propaganda", do you get your news from Algezerra? Or since they ALL reported the same thing, is there a combined plot including CNN, Reuters, MSNBC, NY Times, FOX NEWS, the BBC, the Associated Press, and about a hundred others? Amazing planning!

I guess they are all in on it, except for those awesome truth-tellers at Algezerra! Oh yeah, them and Baghdad Bob the Iraqi Info Minister!

It's not so amazing when you realize the source of these reports. Think hard, and then tell me where these news networks hear these things (besides each other). Do you think they each have independent reporters verifying these claims, or do you think they're just repeating what they hear at the Pentagon briefings? You would be singing a different tune if there were a bunch of Arab news networks repeating what an Arab government spews as fact.

Do I think Saddam was a good guy? Of course not. Has he done some reprehensible things? Yes, most likely he has. Should we try to rescue the Iraqi people by bombing the crap out of them and killing thousands of them? Not in my opinion. Some Iraqi's may be dancing in the street now, but what happens when all the little children who watched their fathers die from American bombs grow up? What happens when many Iraqi people decide they're not happy with the government America brought to their country? The Iraqi people are not pleased that the U.S. is in their country. There have been many demonstrations in Iraq (that you won't hear about on CNN) in which people have chanted "No Saddam, No USA". This resentment will grow into a whole new generation of terrorists.

modern psychology says: resentment doesnt lead to terrorism, a culture of intolerance and religious fanaticism does. terrorism is the behavior of an emotionally diseased brain.
