Saw today that TajMahal.com was on namejet drop auctions. the domain has already reached 8.1k.

This is a high potential domain and Taj Mahal is one among the new 7 wonders of the world.

I see the domain was owned by IREIT. is it being auctioned off or was the domain dropped by them?.

If this topic is already being discussed. please feel free to delete this thread.

if ireit dropped...I'd be afraid to bid. there must be a reason.

Just what I was thinking, I'd be real surprised if Donald Trump's Lawyers haven't gone after it by now.

Well, you can always create site about Taj Mahal in India.
That's much more famous than casino.
Thus, I wonder if casino can do anything about it.

If Trump's lawyer already started something, it doesn't make sense
for iReit to drop the domain. Instead, iReit would fight for it or give it to Trump.

It didnt drop yet, and I doubt it will. I think the iReit guys are giving a little tease to everyone :)

Is there a reserve?

And is the seller obligated to sell based on the auction results?

Or being that it is privately held, do they have the option of NOT ACCEPTING the top offer?

I have been successful in NameJet auctions for dropped domains but no involvement with privately held domains.

If it is a private auction, not a drop, I think the bidders will receive an email from NameJet telling the reserve.

Sorry, I don't mean to confuse anyone.

By "privately held" I meant a domain that is in control of someone and not dropping.

This would have been, I presume, a public auction based on the number of bids placed.

Typically, I know after a certain period of time, the auction is closed to new bidders.

Not following this, I have no idea what stage the process is currently in.

And, like I said, I had never participated in a "non-dropped" namejet auction and was curious as to how it works. Just wondering if this is an absolute auction or one that the seller can chose to accept or decline the final hammer price.

Yes, for a domain that is NOT dropped, NameJet will send bidders an email with the reserve. At least that happened with other domains that weren't dropped.

along with TajMahal.com they also listed GoCarts.com on NJ yesterday.

And i wonder if they still hold Band.com ?.

lol I wonder what value everyone sees in TajMahal.com other then the only fact that it's one of the seven wonders of the world???

Just wondering what one could do with this domain name after purchasing it shelling out some $xx,xxx or $xxx, xxx massive bucks!!

I know people curious about Taj mahal will type in generically to get more information about it or people curious about visiting it will also look into get more information on the same, however IMHO I dont see that much potential in it that after spending that much cash one would be able to recover their investment.

its in my watch list as I'm one of the prebidders on it.. no email as of now from NJ!!

Your take on it?

Snowmobiles.net recently ended at $3,433 and reported as sold at that price. NJ actually had a $10,000 reserve on it.
