I guess you didn't read my post well enough. Down the road...less and less people will be typing .com ....ask yourself why?

It is not a small minority. I have cities that receive more traffic than generic products. It's just a fact...people will be typing their own extension before the .com. Especially if they are looking for deals within Canada. Why would i want to type in montana.com? when i can type in montana.ca and get deals within Canada?
Believe what you want. You have a vested interest in having that point of view.

No i don't ... i call it how i see it. The uninformed should be informed.

NewYork.com or NewYork.ca ... Which one would you go to?

Which one would an average canadian go to ? Trust me...i don't need you to be convinced. That's all part of the game....just do some research on cities/states/countries that sell in ccTLD's.

I would go to newyork.com because newyork is not canada. If i were visiting montreal, i would go to the .ca. Maybe its just me but thats what I would do. I often type in .ca's when im looking for canadian sites of US stores/restaurants like walmart.ca, homedepot.ca, bostonpizza.ca, etc.

LasVegas.ca is a developed site.

Disney is in the US, but they have Disney.ca developed.

Having acquired one of the domains you mentioned and then delivered it to our customer as trade mark holder, we can point out that while some are looking at the ccTLD, many higher profile brands are .com all the way. Where the traffic is going still tends to be the .com version.

As a consumer I'd prefer to visit Disney.ca vs Disney.com (just an example) because I know the site will be targetted to Canadian visitors and written to the Canadian point of view. But if I didn't know there was a .ca site for, say Spain or Austria, I'd probably type in the .com as a starting point. I think Disney, Sea World and Las Vegas have the right idea though, market their site in .ca to Canadians will encourage more people to click through with the expectation the site caters to Canadians.

Exactly hugegrowth. I think the key is also realizing that in the future there will be more of this happening. More people visiting .ca for all purposes. Only in Canada of course.

Now let's get back on track... Quite the list we got brewing this week for TBR.

Sure, someone might but a very small minority. Its just common sense.

fact is almost all my .ca's get between 30-80% us traffic. A lot of US netizens believe that .ca is the abbreviation on the net for california.

but then there is that one that gets 100% from Israel :?:

haven't figured that one out yet!!!

What's everyones view on the current rate at which LLL's are dropping?

Seems like 40 dropped within a month.

I was expecting the LLL.ca market to dry up in TBR by mid to end of October.

But from what I am seeing over the last two weeks, either CIRA is cracking down and suspending non-resident accounts, so some ex-domainers are letting their portfolio drop.

But thats just speculation on my part...any other ideas ???

hard to say why, but they haven't been the highest quality LLL, some decent ones but not all triple premiums. they are still worth high xx to low xxx resale. hard to find an LLL.ca under $100. any that get dropped will always get picked up.

These LLL's that keep dropping are always grabbed so I wouldn't be too concerned. I can't see them being dropped by domainers as they could easily flip them for $100+ each. Could be CIRA finding non-residents, people forgetting to renew etc.

Anyone get anything interesting the past few weeks in the tbr?
