Looks like WebDesign.ca will go over the 10K mark..
Can anyone think of other .CA domains that fetched more in TBR auction??
I can only think of traffic.ca..

WOW if Freddie Mercury was here he'd say.. STONE COLD CRAZY!

I think what I find ammusing is how someone we very well may know would pay 5 figures for that but not $2k here for a decent generic, people's logic is not logical to me :)

I think emplois.ca was a TBR sale in 2008, went for $56,200.

Means 'jobs' in french. I remember hoping it would squeak through TBR with no notice, like other good french domains sometimes do, but no luck. It's a developped site now too.

Nice to see .ca's going for the big dollars. The more that happens the more our domains will be worth - one day.

I hand regged the dropped (in this week's tbr) "angelcards" today. Estibot has it valued at $28,000. If only it were true.

I found the price by doing a search, hopefully it's accurate. I probably listed it on my own blog too.

This week I picked up 'musiquegratuite.ca', which means 'free music' in english.

Are you having luck with your French language domains in terms of natural traffic and/or sales? I've been buying the odd one here and there as well but traffic is spotty.

I agree with JP. On a basis of potential returns buying six $2k domains, making websites or simply flipping later has a much greater potential for profit than buying this one domain name. The small handful of large Canadian web design firms are not going to buy it (imo) and a startup would be even less likely. It's such a saturated market where overseas competition works for a tenth of the cost. But then, like my stocks - I'm always bargain hunting...

I hope Sibername ...or the buyer makes this official on the DnJournal. The dot ca sales over 10k all need to be reported....

I think this will be noticed and some domain investor saw the value in this domain. I am assuming it was not a company or WebDesign firm that purchased it...most likely an individual with much passion for WebDesigning. So congrats to the buyer!!

webdesign dot ca would make a great pay per listing site for web design companies similar to what n49 does with a lot of their sites

I agree.. It will do well on PPC for sure.. but for PPC to pay back the investment.. it will take a looooooong time!!

namefox got it right, it'll be a pay-per-listing directory, searchable by geo and/or niche, with premium placement advertising opportunities.
