I can't help but mention the recent stabbing incident in Manitoba...

True, but we can't forget about the recent school shooting in a Scandinavian country, in Finland.

Yeah, but I wasnt talking about Finland.. I was talking about Sweden.

Are there yet window bars in the classrooms ?

exactly, armed guards, swipe cards, cameras in the hallways, random searches ... remind you of any other institutions we know of?

Indeed :worried:

While I am in favor of gun ownership I don't like the idea of bringing them to schools at all. It's yet another overreaction.:

I don't like it either, I have two children and the last thing I want to see is the teacher packing a gun, With that said, many schools have a high level of violence and may warrant teachers protecting themselves, while less violent schools don't.

One thing I don't like about American public schools is they don't mandate School uniforms, which has shown to REDUCE violence between students.

"Three 12 year old students were gunned down in their classroom today, after a barrage of spit wads sparked a deadly showdown with their substitute teacher." :worried:

Seriously though, if a teacher needs a gun to stay alive, I think it's time to just close down the school, and bulldoze the community.
