Then regarding your .mobi domain, if you don`t win this case, we should all protest together against the current system.
They had months of Sunrise to reg it and now they want it?

Matter of principle, now no longer regging any at Godaddy. Had moved to Moniker while ago anyway. Will just sell off stock with those b*tches.

Had they been turned down by MTLD?

If they missed claiming it in the proper way, do they lose any rights as far as .mobi is concerned?

I'd speak with MTLD and see if they can provide any info.

I thought so too. I called godaddy again about this and what they would do for this 29 bucks and they couldnt answer me. You would think that they would call me on their dime to consult me of this matter. Na, just charge the little guy.

I really appreciate your support in a protest. I figure that this would make some kind of domain history. Maybe. How can anyone claim a trademark on such a generic name. They didnt even email me or call me. Just sent me an overnight, overseas complaint. Something is fishy...

I will pm you what i recieved. Thank you for the support. They said that i dont have to do anything until everything is resolved within 20 days. I wasnt even given the chance to tell them that i develop mobile websites and i DID have a purpose to develop those sites.

I will contact MTLD to see what they think about this. I hope that they could shed some light into this.

IMO this case is very important as it relates to the future of the mTLD. If domainers feel like they can get screwed out of a generic term they will not continue to reg new names. Without domainers regging new domains and creating a secondary market, the extention will fail.

Briman over @ NP had a similar case over Attorney.im. Nic.im took the name from him, he filed an appeal and got it overturned.

defend it the publicity will bring to light the REAL reason the communications / new media backers of .Mobi really got involved in mTld approval :amen:

I so agree with you. I think it relates to the future of .mobi, indeed. It sucks when big corporations screw the little guy who is innocent and trying to live his life. He sees an innocent investment and gets screwed. The little guy had the idea...but gets screwed in the end...:drama:
