So i need someone to help me. Greg has tried to no avail and i can't for the life of me figure it out. I had an old pc that i used to access dnforum with, until it changed hands. Since then my PC can't even pull up the page it says "cannot find" I talked to Greg and he said maybe it was my cache or my cookies so i cleared both out and it still didn't work. SO i got a new PC (not just for this i needed one) and it worked fine last night as many of you saw, upon my first days access to the site from that PC and now today that PC is not accessing the site either it says "not found" SO I wondered if maybe it could be that i'm running off Road Runner right now? And have a dynamic IP. Any ideas all you tech wizards? PLEASE HELP ME I WANT TO COME BACK AND SAY HIIIIIIIIIII!!!!! I will check in periodically for answers you guys might have but not as much as i need to bc i have to use someone elses PC to do it :(

well, if you got a new computer there is certainly not anything wrong with the computer itself.

I would say that your ISP is having difficulties.
Do you have trouble accessing any other sites?
Have you called your isp?

Hey hon. Nope haven't called my ISP, but i don't have problems with any other site but DNForum it's quite puzzling to say the least. Aside from calling RR anything else you can suggest (trying not to call them bc they're a bunch of a**holes who don't know anything about computers in the least...yeah and they work for an ISP weird huh?

Do the following: Go to your network setup and switch to your own DNS servers. Pick any public DNS server, like ATT or XO, etc. If this does not work, reinstall your web-browser (just install the latest version on top of it and you will not loose anything).

TO swith off auto DNS, go to your network places, properites, TCP/IP, properties, 'Use the following DNS servers' and enter the servers. Try these: 165.87.13.129 and 165.87.201.244 If this does not work, dont forget to switch back to auto.

I have the same problem with RR. Go to a dos prompt, and enter

ipconfig /all

D:\>ipconfig /all

This should show DNS servers. To renew your IP and all DNS info, enter:

ipconfig /renew

This will prompt the DHCP server to renew your IP address and other network settings.

This is related to W2k operating system.

Additionally, disabling and enabling your network connection (Local Area Connetion - Disable, then Local Area Connection - Enable) may resolve your access problems.

I do not think ipconfig /renew will help as the domain is unreachable right from bootup, right? If no domain is unreachable all of a sudden, the renewal of the DHCP host will work (unless it is unreachable), if its just some domains, its the DNS.

Try:

ipconfig /flushdns

Then in your browser, goto: 65.61.162.201

After Dnforum loads up, type in: www.dnforum.com

Give that a try, that worked for me in the past.

Angel, dont worry about using the new DNS, its absolutely fine. I had this happen with Road Runner a while ago, i gave it 2 weeks, switched back and all was fine. My advice is to do the same.
