PPC domain parking is great and we'd encourage more domain development. Where does the ppc earnings come from? Advertisers with websites developed from domains. The more domain development, the better domain parking. May you sell more domains that will be developed.

Who are any of you to be passing judgment on what domain owners do with their domains?, Many members on this forum park premium domains like these and never develop them.

There seems to be a debate here whether parking a domain is actually wasting it. It may be not achieving its full potential but wasting? Anyways, here's one that I truly feel is wasted:

hazmat.com

The owners tell you right off the bat if you are looking for hazmat related info get off the site. Hazmat is an official term for "hazardous materials" and even has a government department and a whole bustling industry. But hazmat.com is completely wasted.

Sure, what is sad is the domains that are not even parked/monetized.
Like M.A. Stenzel (aka I-don't-develop-I-don't-sell-I-don't-monetize ) who has a lot of .org country domains with a placeholder page... :sigh2:

Another waste is germany.com. It wasn't even parked and still isn't.

The domain owner recently put a picture of his cat on the homepage and a
message to "go away, this domain is not for sale!"

I am not sure you should use the language "wasted" until you have a real idea of just how much money these domain names are bringing in.

I have a suspicion that a couple of these domains are making 7 figures a year with PARKED revenue. With fixed costs under $7 a year and revenue over a million dollars a year, is this "wasted"?

Many web 2.0 companies have NEVER turned a profit, yet they have received millions in VC. Are those ventures "wasted"? I guess it boils down to the goal of the website. Are they being operated as businesses or visitor playgrounds? If business then "parking", whether you like it or not, has proven to be one of the most efficient business models.

Ill bet some of these domains are not parked for the fear of reverse hijacking

I think when someone says "wasted", it means that the domain has so much potential that it's a waste to just park it. I'm sure this domains make pretty well in parking, is just that, at least me, i think, no matter how much they on parking, thay could be making a lot more if they were developed.

Please, don't think i'm against parking a domain, in fact i have domains parked, but the good ones are developed and making more than when i had them parked.

Lead singer of the rock band "Boston" nice tribute page from a big fan.

I'm glad you posted that, Raider. I was wondering if Rockefeller was sighing over Brad's passing - or because he feels Boston.org is being "wasted" now that the website has been (temporarily?) replaced with a tribute page.

Boston.NET on the other hand....... :?:
