Steve,

I agree five days is two long to make the transfer, the fact of the matter is that I don’t have access to manage this domain; if I did I’d change the admin/all contact details in the matter of minutes. With a third person involved it complicates matters.

Actions made today…

Emailed compila.com and ‘third person’ today to try and push things on, yet
Again!

Thanks

Rob

You shouldn't have agreed to sell a domain that was not in your possession. This is what happens. I hope this turns out well.

Cheers GD,

I did inform Steve of the situation prior to accepting payment, I also told him it would take at least a few days to get sorted, regrettably its take a few days longer than I originally thought. I’m still confident all things will work out well in the end.

Thanks
Rob

Steve,

To clarify what I’ve told you before

To answer your question technically speaking I don’t. It was registered by a web designer I was using at the time, she registered it in her own name, obviously I asked for this to be changed but there was no immediate rush for to happen as I wasn’t intending on ever selling the name.

Then all this happened.

Hope this answered your questions.

Rob

So Robin - You do not own this domain name? Someone else owns this domain? You never explained that before - You are selling us a domain name that is owned by a third party? All this work to attempt to retrieve one of our corporate identities in the .co.uk ext. and you never owned the domain name in the first place? You post this domain name on this forum in an attempt to either market it to our corporation, or as you state, use it for your new site and it was never your's in the first place?

Well that does not fly well with the moderators at this or any forum, from what I have seen in the past. I believe that is one one of the main rules on this board; You must own the domain name that you are offering for sale or appraisal.

This is the 7th day after payment to you for an admin and contact change on this domain so we could transfer it out and now you tell us you never owned the domain name? Let me run this one by a few folks get back to you on this. If you talk to the owner of this domain name, have them contact me at [email protected] immediately. Steve

To be frank, we had actually been aware of that BEFORE this thread was even started. However, it seems that you guys have struck a deal somehow, so we just leave it to you to resolve the situation. From what I recall, URL T has NOT offered to sell urlcollection.co.uk in this forum (he did mentioned it though, and that's why we're alerted); moreover, buyers should as a rule of thumb ALWAYS do their own little investigation (like at least looking up the whois) BEFORE committing to a sale. Let's hope you two can work things out eventually; but a week is a bit long and I can understand your frustration, Steve. And Rob, please do something.

Steve,

Firstly the name was never offered for sale or appraisal on this forum or any other forum for that matter. You approached me and basically gave me two options surrender the name or you’ll take me to court.

As for your comment on not knowing that the name was not ‘legally’ owned by me, I did point this out in one of our earlier emails.

“My web designer registered the name so the transfer will have to be done through her” (taken from one of our earlier emails)

I also thought you would have checked the Whois database prior to contacting me, obviously not!

Thanks

Rob

Robin - We checked the whois record and assumed that this was your designer and registrar of your domain names and that you had access to make the appropiate changes so we could start a transfer away. We do this every day and it is really no big deal. Now 7 days out and what? You can not get a hold of this "designer" ? Never had access to this domain name? What position or ownership rights do you actually hold on this domain name, if any? - The registrar is awaiting the changes and is all set to move the domain name and now what are we waiting for? I asked to have this "designer" contact us immediately - Do you have a problem with that? We have far to much time in this issue, to date and would expect you make this happen today. Thank You - Steve

Steve,

Correction, I have been in discussions with Compila, you and my web designer during the last 7 days.

I also let you know early on that I didn’t have access to the admin area so could not just simply change the admin/all contact details myself.

I have no problem with you emailing her directly if you wish. I’ve sent you a pm containing her email address to save you waiting for her to contact you.

Thanks

Rob

Steve,

Copy of email just sent…

Dear ********,

It’s been eight days now and still you haven’t changed the admin/all contact details as requested. This just isn’t acceptable!

I’ve yet to give your ebay feedback which will be extremely negative unless this problem is resolved within the next 48 hours.

Call Compila on +44 (0)871 220 5121 and lets get this transfer done.

Regards

well the moral of this story beside dodgy ebay scams is to always check up if the seller is the actual owner of the domain for sale,

we all sell and buy domain on a daily basis and im sure most of us dont check the whois info, i know i NEVER do ofcourse on some of the larger buys it would be stupid not to, it comes down to a matter of trust

i would be very concerned if a domain transfer took over a week
