Thanks for the tips RJ. Though one about pictures is pretty hard to obbey. How to run a fan site without pictures? Its hard to get them my self, since grave digging is considered as a criminal act :D

PS: Is it allowed to have an affiliate link to amazon or some site, selling tupacs cds and stuff (for covering bandwidth expenses:D)

- Also, how come that 2paclegacy.com, for instance, can stream tupacs music as a background, as well as special option to chose the track to listen to? Under what circumstances is that allowed? I see it says its an official website. Even though, there are still many other websites with sample clips for a background.

- One more: lyrics.com and many other sites are posting lyrics of different artists. How come they dont get visit from a lawyer?

THANKS!

2paclegacy.com is their official website, I know this for fact. If you look through the UDRP results on the Tupac Shakur domain cases, it was the fan sites that offered MP3's that were proven to be using the domains in bad faith.

Tupac.Com and Tupacfans.com are my domains. I won the UDRP case filed against me on Tupac.Com & Tupac.Net since I was able to establish legitimate interest in the domain and an absense of bad faith. But that didn't stop the Estate from filing a $2 million dollar trademark lawsuit against me. One of their key pieces of evidence was the fact I had lyrics posted on the site (that are definately copywrited)

The pictures are a little tougher area to prove definate copyright. You might check with Vibe magazine to see if they would permit you to use some of their pictures.

Also another suggestion -- use the name Tupac, or Tupac Shakur, in place of the registered trademark "2Pac". The Estate still claims a common law trademark on the name "Tupac" and "Tupac Shakur", but you'll have more grounds to use the name "Tupac" on a fair-use basis.
