As a postscript to this thread Danny Carey's wife contacted me via email around October 2002, asking if I would give them the domain. I transferred it to them, without asking for anything, and subsequently received a phone message from Danny Carey thanking me for doing so.
He then left the page I had up for a year before changing the nameservers and forwarding the domain to his site at DannyCarey.org.
