I got this domain from a friendly guy on dnforum.
After I got it I found out the .net,.org,.biz,.info was registered.

I soon found out it was correct spelling of counter strike server ( i use to play this game I know this is really valuable)
Contacted one website that sold counter strike server They replied how much?

How much should I say? THis is the correct spelling.
I won't offer the estibot price which is 9.6k because I think it is too much.
I don't want to scare them away or low ball myself either.

Any ideas how should I go on this?

I don't know if they can afford it...and wow 1.5k would mean alot for me.
I haven't sold a domain for that much....
Do you think its worth 1.5k?

Start with $5k and take it from there. If they blow you off at that price without even countering then they expect to get it for free (aka. pay a couple hundred bucks or something).

This is like my first time ever selling a good domain name...first time.
Should I offer 5k? Do i use that protecting thing....what was it called uh that charges you money to ensure that it will go through?
I have to go to toronto tommorrow for vacation what should I do?
What should my reply be?
I'm so excited..if it goes more than 1k I am happy.

You own the domain, not them.
If they want your domain they pay $$$$ or they can fly away :D

If they said no, find another enduser and go on until you sell the name.

Well, think of it this way; do you _ever_ think you will be contacted again by anyone who's interested in that particular domain? Is this your "one shot" of selling it, ever? Be honest to yourself, don't be over-optimistic. If so, then you should perhaps go $1,5k-$2k like Carter says, as a $5k offer might scare off the potential buyer.

It's hard to say without knowing the actual domain name. If it's worthless to resellers (e.g. counter-strike-server.com or similar), then you should just get whatever you can and be happy with it. Noone here can tell you what to ask if they don't know the actual name.

Sounds like a great idea problem is it is a godaddy.
Does anyone know how to renew domains with godaddy with paypal?
I don't have a cc I'm a minor...I buy domains at name.com or namecheap simply because I can use paypal.

When you are in the check out page (at GoDaddy) simply check PayPal and pay :)

Thank you for the replies everyone :)
Helped me alot.
Counter Strike is a fps game. The counter strike games are all on different servers (theres no server hosted by the game creators but by other people). They can set different maps on their servers. People who play cs and want to control their own map etc have to purchase a server that people can join into.
I use to play cs.
Now the company I contacted was a counter strike server provider company. I simply don't know how much they can afford.

Should I reply with this:
The price of the domain will start from $1,500 dollars. If your still interested on purchasing the domain then reply and we will start from here. If the price is simply too high for you simply don't bother to reply.
~Al

Should that be my reply.

And again thanks for all the information. First time. If this goes through more than 1k I'll send y'all $5 dollars to your paypal.

When you are in the check out page (at GoDaddy) simply check PayPal and pay :)
I tried that several times. It says...add a new credit card or debit card when I try to pay (for paypal).
Anyone got gift cards I can purchase :)

Hmm I'm not sure I like the whole "If the price is simply too high for you simply don't bother to reply."

I would go with something like:

The current asking price is $3000.00. Please let me know if you are interested in this exceptional domain.

Then you wait for their response and if they say it's too high just simply reply with "how much is your budget for this domain?".

Sometimes saying less is better and leaving the door open. Who knows they may turn around and say SOLD!

BTW I think you should start at $3k and then you have room to work between $3k and $1.5k. Consider that your negotiation zone.

Best of luck Albert!

Thank you so much for these posts guys.
I was wondering something also. I see people on dnforums selling high price domains through that thing I forgot. Starts with e I keep thinking enom but its not. I know its a site that protects you from getting scammed.

I should just keep it simple thanks for that.
How about:
The current asking price is $3000.00. Please let me know if you are interested in this exceptional domain. Payment will made through paypal mass pay?

I don't have any other ideas how they should pay me.

You have some money on your PayPal?
The first time you use GD and PayPal I think you need to memorize your PP mail (but I don't remember how I've done).

http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/prepayment/landing.asp

  • In the shopping cart under "Select Payment Method," choose "PayPal Account".
  • Click "Checkout."
  • Click "Go To PayPal" to log in to your existing account or to create a new one.
  • Verify that GoDaddy.com is the merchant from whom you are purchasing.
  • Accept the merchant agreement.
  • When you receive your transaction ID number, click "Back to Merchant" to return to our site and finishing checking out.
Thank you so much for these posts guys.

I make note to point out that you should not have a paypal account: it is illegal as you are under 18.

Thanks for this.
Does escrow require anything? I don't really understand it. It will be my first time.

Also paypal and godaddy won't work. I have enough money to buy the domain but still wont' let me.
I have one bank verified thats it. Premier account since 2006.
To complete your purchase, please add a new credit card or debit card.
PayPal submits American Express transactions in USD, regardless of the currency of your transaction. If your payment or your card is not denominated in USD, we each apply currency conversion commission to the transaction. American Express will credit your American Express statement in an amount estimated to be at least equal to the fees applied to the transaction. We apologize for any inconvenience as we implement a new process to address this issue.

Good luck for the sale.
Thank you. I appreciate it :)
Thanks to everyone who helped me out on this. If actually this goes through I will be really happy for a long time.
Planning to reinvest into web development as I don't really know what domains to register...this was from a dnforum member who generously donated this.
I am going to give him some cash for donating this :)

I made a little mistake.
Albert,

What would be the cost of the domain?

Thanks,

Should I make a new post with the domain...I think it might look desperate.

I'm really nervous right now....butterflies in my tummy =]

Never write "exceptional" in a sales mail.
If they want buy this name they know is "exceptional".
