I created a thread about this topic on another forum:

----------------------------

We've seen prices for NNN.mobi go up after selling out during landrush. We've seen prices for LLL.mobi go up after selling out in October. Today we've seen the last NNNN.mobi's sell out, but what can we expect in terms of value?

Let's start with the current market value of NNN according to 3Character.com:

3Character.com said:
Current Observed Minimum Wholesale Price (regardless of Number combo) as of February 1, 2007::
• 3-Number .com - $5000
• 3-Number .mobi - $750

Based on these numbers we can see that NNN.mobi is valued at 15% of NNN.com ($750 / $5000 = 15%). If we apply this calculation to a NNNN.com (currently selling at $300 min), we can say NNNN.mobi is worth 15% of $300 = $45. These calculations are for random-number combos (4638.mobi, etc). Premium numbers are a little trickier but we've seen premium NNN.mobi's (300 & 900) sell at 5X to 7X the price of a random-number NNN.mobi

In conclusion, here's a summary of current market value (random-number combos):

NNN.com - $5000
NNN.mobi - $750
NNNN.com - $300
NNNN.mobi - $45

My valuation of NNNN.mobi is based purely on the calculations above. In the next few weeks the market will determine value. Stay tuned..

No one want to sell NNNN.mobi for $45, I think $100 maybe is the reasonable price. NNNN.mobi will be at $200 lwithin one year.

NNN.com - $6000
NNN.mobi - $750
NNNN.com - $400
NNNN.mobi - $100

Buy nnnn.com even though it is a higher price than nnnn.mobi. You will make more in long run.

so it seems like you could make a case for a NNNN.mobi to be valued currently at $45 - $100. What would a "premium" NNNN.mobi go for?

Here is my example.

pink.mobi is currently on auction at sedo with a maximum bid of $5000. Lets say that is the ending price. How would you value the number version of pink.mobi (which is 7465.mobi)? Would it fall in the $45 - $100 normal NNNN.mobi price, or would you value it as a percentage of the final pink.mobi selling price?

I think I'd place a much higher value on NNNN's with repeated numbers (ie, 8989) as they are way more memorable/useable.

As far as names that spell something, all the phones I've used that are actually comfortable to browse with have QWERTY keyboards. They seem to be the way new phones are going so that may not pan out.

i agree.. and especially the part about repeated numbers (or counting numbers) i.e. 3334,3335,3336,3337.. 2425,2526,2627,2728...etc, but im biased... very very biased.
