Just paid 2K for it. Thoughts on value please? Did I over pay?

I don't think so. I like it. Would make a great name for development. Congrats to you & the seller.

I think you got a good deal because I forgot about the auction and did not set a reminder or alert to the ending.

The 1st thing I thought of when I saw this domain was a website/toolbar that lets you share your "Viewed" links with friends on facebook, twitter, etc.

Something like "Shiffy just Viewed DNForum" where viewed and dnforum would be links. You can rank "Top Viewed" items.

Preciously!

A visual TOP TEN list as in Most Viewed Tweet, Most Viewed Photos, and so on...

tremendous subdomain potential

IF I didn't have so much going on I would strongly consider it.

I may be able to put you in touch with a developer who could handle this type of site, if you want me to make that contact.

He has (and is currently) helping me on a few projects.

Yes, I would like that. The idea is strong.

There was actually a racehorse that raced in the Melbourne Cup (Australia) called 'Viewed'. I think it actually won last year or previous year actually....

Sounds like a great name to me, but i certainly wouldn't be qualified to appraise it :)

Tough one, MostViewed.com seems more apt for a site, and not sure people will go public with what they've viewed on a toolbar, some people would.

But purely as a domain well worth it. Movie ticket sales stats would be my bet, rank the stars, winning formula.

You're asking whether it was worth paying two grand for the domain? It's all a matter of personal planning and taste. In today's market there are large deviations from what used to be considered standard pricing with domains. The idea is to come up with a plan for the domain first, then cough up the dough. Otherwise, you're simply attempting to justify your purchase and trying to find a use for it *after* you paid $2050.

2k for a short one word .com that has possible applications to viewed photos, articles, links or social networking is a fine deal, your downside is pretty small here.

Yes, not a lot of downside, but it doesn't seem like a name that is strong enough to get close to 2K if you had to fire-sale it. It is a bit awkward in my opinion. I think you paid a fair price for the name. If the people in this thread who really like would honestly take it off your hands right now for 2K then you can't lose. If they like it, but wouldn't give you close to 2k if you needed to unload it, then that also tells you what you need to know.

So, you got a good deal at 2k if a reasonable domainer would pay you 2K for it now. It is an interesting name. If you had paid 1K it really wouldn't be a great deal, either. It is not that type of name that automatically has a strong connection to most viewers, though a small percentage will really like it (but will they give you 2K now?)

It is nice in that it is a real word and seems to make sense, though it is a bit awkward. However, there is a ceiling as to how much you could ever get by selling it. I can't imagine you could ever get 10K for it......it just isn't that type of name. There are certain names people pay 2K for where everyone can imagine the name being sold for big money if the right situation presented itself.

Good luck....it is a decent name.
