The author of estibot is a bright, stand up guy. I respect what he is trying to do. Producing an accurate and reliable appraisal formula is extremely difficult and no one has it right yet. But he's getting there. He also uses disclaimers which is a moral imperative to avoid being branded a charlatan.

The most problematic element of automated appraisals is their inability to incorporate the "X-factor" ... which is by far the most important ingredient in a high-end domain valuation. The weighting of many variables and ratios that go into an appraisal formula are not magic, but the subjective impressions of the person writing the math algorithm.

I agree, domain name appraisal is tough but it can be done with a certain level of disclaimer. Estibot together with Namebio are really trying to achieve something here.

i think it works real well for overture or searched names....obviously you cant use any service for appraisals for names that do not have any overture or wordtracker data , it just makes no sense. The end user determines the price for those names.

overture data is broken, there would have been overture searches for the term

Again, is that a one word or two+ word domain that you're speaking of?

It is three words. I see what you mean, it is not identifying the different words in the domain name so that would throw off appraisals considerably.

Yeah, input the domain as: word1 word2 word3.com with spaces.

Thanks for letting me know. It was reappraised at $12,000 which would be about 11 years PPC revenue. From one extreme to another.

obviously, you seem to have a pretty good opinion though considering you don't even know how to use it

I reappraised the domain in question after DevilDog told me how to correctly use it. Too much to drink in the silly season, aye?
