I can't really answer this sanely...music is music and to really appreciate it you have to listen to all music. That way you will know what you don't like not so much what you do like.
Beginning with a collection of nearly 4000 78 rpm from the pure outright twangy hillbilly (in very small doses) and original downhome blues, I go from the classics and opera to White Zombie and Madredeus. Full circle.
What am I listening to now? Flatlanders. Just got done with some Yo-Yo Ma.
My domains are as varied as my music taste.
