Hi

if, the business is successful already, then "name or brand" recognition, is what people know.
and that percent could be as high as 100%
there are other factors, but since your question is so brief, then so will the answer be.

imo....

Or as low as 0% if we're measuring this on a scale of bad to good?

Nothing to get you more traffic like a confusing string with hyphens—throwing in some numbers for good measure too—in an obscure TLD... (/sarcasm)

You're going to want to get the best name possible with what you have available to spend. This should be factored into any startup budget and generally shouldn't be exceeded unless an opportunity arises to warrant such a decision.

How can domain name change the business

Teamwork.com buyer explains why $675,000 was a smart investment

TL;DR

They had a better product but struggled for years with marketing. Buying teamwork.com, changed their business. The domain gave them credibility and people were suddenly happy to take their calls. Teamwork.com payed for itself in one year.

If your business was making shoes, and your company name was Hightop Kicks, hightops.com would be a great brand domain for your company.

Now consider how much more valuable shoes.com would be. Apply that to cars.com, candy.com, etc.

Ah, I remember the times when my eyes were set on owning an LLL.com as they had liquid value all the while passing up dictionary words for hundreds to low thousands... in some cases, now worth more than LLL.coms (to the right buyer, potentially not as liquid).

It can help in increasing the company's brand awareness if you put the company's name in your domain, as it is always a better option than putting keywords, although at the first sight it may seem like that would increase the organic ranking.

100%, and better yet if the keyword IS the brand. All bases covered.
