I own the domain AffiliateProgram,com

I have owned it for a long time. Right now it is parked.

What would you guys do with this domain?

I always thought it would be ideal for acquisition by a big e-commerce player such as Amazon, eBay, Walmart, etc.. or even an online casino. It might also work as a directory for affiliate programs.

Any suggestions?

The obvious quick-kill solution is to sell it to somebody who really runs the online affiliate marketing industry such as Clickbank, Commission Junction, Amazon, etc.

Let's say that lands you $xx,xxx. That's the easy way out for a sure buck, and is what I'd do in most cases.

But given my familiarity on the topic of affiliate marketing, I'd build a directory.

But not just any old directory.

I'd build a directory which thoroughly reviews each program, but insists (in a way which is consistent with the terms of use, of course) that they sign up through your affiliate link so that you earn residuals off their commissions.

I know for a fact that Clickbank offers this, but you should look into the other providers.

For those who have no such program, offer them exposure on the site for a monthly fee. Viewers of the site are obviously interested in joining an affiliate program, which puts money in the program providers' pocket, so advertising with you is very targeted, and can come out quite profitable.

In the worst of cases, you can just sell the domain name if the directory doesn't work out.

This is an exciting domain, I'd definitely go the affiliate directory route and categorize affiliate programs with a description of each. Leave a comment form for each so people can leave feedback on any program. Many affiliate programs will give you a link to refer other affiliates and earn a % off their sales. With this domain and content you should get good search engine ranking and people will be signing up through your links everyday, a great way to earn passive income.

I turned down $XXX,XXX a bunch of years ago. I don't think that the importance of affiliate programs in web commerce has declined in the intervening years.
