I recently drop-caught a domain that's the exact name of a U.S. professional sports team (city & team name), in a prominent but not dot-com extension. Seemed like it would be a good domain for someone setting up a fan site (am I correct in thinking that is an acceptable use for such a domain?).
I did a little research on names of teams in that league. The dot-coms are owned by the league or the individual teams. Domains with the same extension as mine are sometimes owned by the league, sometimes by the team, and sometimes by individuals (many of whom use privacy).
Under these circumstances, what would you suggest I do with the domain:
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Under these circumstances, what would you suggest I do with the domain:
- advertise it and look for a buyer
- offer it to the team (at no charge)
- offer it to the league (at no charge)
- something else
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
