Whats the difference?

I have seen people whos title said "Gold Member Lifetime" and "Gold Member" , same with platinum members, i was curious and want to know what the difference is between the two types.

I am not 100% sure about this, but when you upgrade to gold, from platinum, you get 5-10 free "Two week" invites to send to whomever you wish.

I think it might be this.

DNF members used to pay an annual fee
Some time ago, all members were offered lifetime membership for $1
Those members without Lifetime did not take up that offer
Don't know why, and don't know if they will be charged an annual fee when their annual membership expires . If they are charged, expect to hear them scream loudly.
