This year has been the most successful one so far,
i had 3 sales at ~€12.000 + dozens of sales in the high $$$ to low $$$$ range.
This week is crazy, made €12.000 for a package of 4 names, 3 sales at around $500 and refused one offer of $5000 :D
It seems to become better every month.
From the money i earn i reinvest at least 80% in new domains or projects.

Would like to know, how the others handle this?

Well said. In 1999 I refused a high $$$$$ for a domain. It is a very powerful name for a futuristic technology when it will be used by/for each and every person. Sometimes I wish I had taken that offer.... Is there a way to turn the clock back ? :-D

After my 125k sale, I became greedy. Turned down $7,500 for Chatopia.com, $5,000 for eLandscapes.com and more. I lost track of my stupid mistakes.

Things are picking up as 'logop' noted and I still see a bold future in domain names, especially for those who can hold onto what they have until the right buyer comes along.

All it takes is a good line of credit and steady / reasonable sales.

quack.

I always say that playing in this game is like buying lotto. You may be lucky one day. But most people lose.

Let's face it...
The people who make money with domains are the vast minority. The rest of us are living a dream.
I have a dream. That someday, I will sell my domains for such high figures, that I will need to open multiple swiss bank accounts and buy a few islands...

But until then, I think we (well most of us?) are addicted to this, especially those of us that spent hours after hours in front of a computer, until our girlfriends think we have become an extension of the computer itself and when she asks us 'honey, how do I look?' we answer, 'I think you are on the wrong monitor, let me switch you on the TFT display'...

Sorry, I had to vent somewhere. :)
Highest was $3000 3.5 years ago. Since then, very few $XXX and quite a few $XX

I sold one last year for $3500.00, and it was a domain name that had 22 letters, 3 words, and was a dot com.

I have lots more that are waiting in the wings for the right offer, but lots of the experienced domain sellers on this forum would probably just pass these names by.

I love it when they do. The trick is to find your niche, market to it (I'm still learning how to do this every day), and be patient and stay calm when your finances get so bad that you can't even renew all of your domains.

In other words, believe in yourself and believe in your domains, unless EVERYONE tells you they are crappy AND you still have not made a decent sale in a one-year period.

Best regards,
Sheila

I am happy to say that nearly a year ago I sold Flingz.com for $850. Since then, the person who purchased the domain has left it parked on my godaddy reseller account.

Not bad! They paid me $850 for the ability to advertise for ... me!

Agree that the domain market is getting much better but many of the success stories in this thread (especially the end-user buys and higher dollar sales) are probably mostly luck and timing.

It's a matter of end-user buyers by luck stumbling across the name and also wanting the name at the same time he finds it.

The market for type-in names in particular seems to be incredibly good vs only 1 or 2 yrs ago. It was not too long ago most domainers thought made-up names were the best and very few even understood what type-in's were.

Afternic has that listed as selling as part of a package of five domains, a few of which were .com names, so that price is misleading.

These kinds of posts are just stupid in my opinion. Do you really think that most serious sellers would post their top sales here? And if they are not posting here, then it is a waste of time.
