I have two young kids, a one-and-a-half year old and one 3 months old. Spending a good amount of time with them is my biggest plan for 2008.

Considering domaining I want to develop, develop, develop (and have a few 6 figure sales :p )

I'm finishing up my first year in the domaining / web devolopment field. Not much has gone on, but what did I expect? I've also found myself in an industry that is very common but has no definite web community. Let's just say I'd guess that at least half of the people on this forum has owned this product, probabaly 90% of the people here knows someone (directly) who owns one, and 99% would see this item and say "that's a (product)". It's not something general, like a car or a computer, either (more specific, like a Ford Mustang for a car relevant example). This industry is also in trouble in the US, potentially being ruined.

The community itself is very fragmented (here in the US). The web community is a confederacy, at best.

I've started up some communities to hopefully help this industry improve here in the US and tighten it up. I plan on devoloping these communities further and expanding them.

What I have so far:
A directory to promote people in this industry
A site dedicated to pointing out flaws in the industry and improvements on the site
A site soley for a person who is extremely well known (and one of the most knowledgeable) in the community (this site is up with his permission and I have daily emails with him, submissions etc..) who feels the same way I do, the industry needs to be fixed.

Don't ask me the industry, I am still in the process of catching domains as they drop for this project so people who promote the destruction (IMO) of this product (and it is clear-cut) cannot get them to throw pay-per click ads all over and not even promote the product, just their wallets.

I plan on picking up more PHP plus reviewing HTML / DHTML / CSS and picking up some XML.

Maybe also sell a domain or two.

sell more domains. get better at negotiating. find more channels to sell through.

Whats your plans for 2008?

I am going to slim down my domain portfolio with quality names only and make more lucky buys, what about you guys?

How can you plan to "make more lucky buys"? (I guess it depends on what you mean by "lucky".)

We would all like to plan to have more good luck!

I just got into domaining, so for me 2008 is all about developing the learning curve.
I need to realise which domains will sell and which won't (I can't believe some of the stupid names I've seen on the appraisals thread, (including some of my own)).
I need to get the balance right between my job, my personal life and domaining (all way tipped in favour of domaining at the moment).
I need to make some profit!
I need to set some time aside to sit down and develop a few sites because I'm making $0 from parking atm.
Those are the main objectives at the moment.

Good luck all, looking forward to dealing with some of you in the future :)

I did a few experiments in December, spent about 1-2 hours on each development project and its paying off quite nicely already.
The plan is develop loads more sites, learn a whole lot more about wordpress and 10 minutes per week per site updating.

A bunch of things for me in 2008.
-learn how to build websites myself which will increase my revenue as I won't have to pay anyone else.
-focus a lot on quality hand regs until I reach my quota of names again (sold alot in 2007)
-work on the development of 5 new projects
-get rid of the dead weight domains
-continue doing what worked in 2007 and discontinue what didn't work.

Anyways, that is my plan. I wish everyone a prosperous 2008 in domaining and all other facets of your life.
