If you're mostly out for .com's, like me, how good does the domain name have to be for it to be wise for you to register the .net and perhaps other extensions, too?

Thanks for any advice.

John,

The .net extension is also crowded just like .com. If you are in domain investing, I suggest start doing for .info .biz and .us registration (if you are in US).

Most registration I have comes with .net and .info. I added .biz and .us to secure it.

Lately, I considered buying some names in .com.cn. There are some good leads in .cn extension too. Especially if you have contact on the other side of the world.

Cheers for now

dot net's have to be great for resale - but you never can tell really.

With hosting domains it's best to get Both the dot com and the dot net, but many hosts do well with the dot net only.

In Dec. '99 I was checking to see who owned Diet Pills.com, but my eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw the net was available.

I don't think anyone would have passed on it.

If it's a great name, don't think twice because it won't last long.

Not a great site, but I love the name, dietpills.net

I think he means, if you already own the .com, should you also register the .net, and so on down the line.
