You want a domain name with a keyword for SEO purposes.

Widgets.com is long gone unless you have $25000 to buy it.

WidgetWorld.com, Widgetzone, etc. are gone as well.

However, Widgets.cc and Widgets.ws are available.

Do you pick the off brand extensions or do you squeeze in a keyword to reg
"widgets123emporium.com"?

Remember...your goal is search engine traffic to a developing site not so much type-in.

Thanks for your input!

I think I would prefer to do something like BestWidgets.com. I would also register Widgets.cc and redirect that traffic to BestWidgets.com

i agree also if you add a word like best before widget. It well have more chances to come out in a search engine. Like if someone types best in search

you'll see bestwidgets same with the word widgets.

imho

just be careful if widgets is a TM. You could get the domain yanked from you depending on the company

Thanks for the opinions.

I guess what y'all are saying is that a single keyword --not a TM, by the way-- with a bad extension (widgets.cc) isn't as desirable for optimization as a keyword attached to a non-keyword.com (BestWidgets.com)?

It might be worth looking at OV and seeing what other words they suggest

I would find a suitable .com...not too crazy long, but good key words for your "widgets"
