Please go read some middle east history and you will see that those lands were in peace till 1915 under Ottoman empire till british spies provacated arab people and created todays artificial countries like Iraq, syria, jordan etc.

All these stuff;

1. the fact that british educated Shekh families are ruling those countries,
2. burgeoning of UAE, which is powered by american and EU money, as a hub to pump their products to the rich,
3. No democracy but only problem creating ME
4. The fact that middle east always pours like a hell bucket,

are all the steps of intentional british and american plans which has been applied since 1915 after the Ottoman empire collapsed.

so it is not so simple and shallow to explain the situation that this small turkish guy hates arabs. You need to read and learn alot of middle east history.

With respect - I am sorry you hate us Arabs so much :(

Please feel free to mention more reasons to hate us - and mention more justifications for your hate. I'm glad some of your best friends are Arabs - reminds me to be nicer to all.

Well now you can find out the answer - in depth - in the new cover story just published at Domain Name Journal.

There is also a new Editorial telling you why Your MUST Pay Attention to New Extensions, whether you intend to buy them or not.

Incidently, we expect to move DNJ out of Preview mode and into full time production this weekend. We have a couple more stories to write (including one on the new Domain Name Forum Gold/Platinum-Only Auction coming up March 16) and a few changes to make, then it's full speed ahead.

Nice article , but I can't help notice that it seems to "kiss Elequa's A$$"

Although I enjoyed reading the article and most articles from DNJournal, I found something to be misleading. What you didn't mention is where Elequa originally made his money from. No its none of our business but if someone reads the article, they would automatically think he made most of his money in domains. Also, the reason he has a different philosophy and mind set is because he had money to start with. Maybe it is good to buy all the top notch domains and never sell them, but you need a lot of money for that. Most people that are in the domain name business only started out with $10 and 1 domain name so its not right to compare him to someone else. I congratulate elequa on what he has accomplished but don't make it sound like hes the bill gates of domain names

I didn't come away from the article thinking elequa is the "Bill Gates" of domain names. To me whether someone has money or not is not a major concern of mine. It's what THEY ARE DOING, that matters. I've known quite a few people who had money and pissed it right down the drain. So money doesn't necessarily equal success. Even having Media.com doesn't give him "grand poopa" status. It's what he's doing with his domains that will make or break him.

The article was a little flattering, but it would have been boring to read a story about someone who is "average" as in the guy that bought a $10 name and is now trying to sell this name for $60. Most articles written in magazine's today are about people who are making a difference in their respective fields. Normally these articles contain flattering comments and glowing remarks. Think of it this way, if Duke kept harping how average Elequa was then I'd imagine you'd click off the article as fast as you could.

The question you have to ask yourself: Is what I am doing today going to make a difference for me tomorrow? If it isn't, you are on the wrong train. I think that is why I like reading about other people who have different perspectives than I do. It helps me focus on what I'm doing today to make damn sure tomorrow is going to be productive and helpful to my pocketbook.

Finally I think the most important thing I got from the article is that someone out there sleeps more than I do :)

Duke, I just read the article, just visited your site I thought "what´s new on DNJ?", and then I came to DNF and found this thread.

Just wanted to say that I love the way you wrote man, I really do.

About elequa, well, everyone that knows me knows about the respect I have to him. Not only for the domains he owns, and the number of succesful transactions we have made (directly or as broker), but because of the great person he is;

This guy is very busy, but he always have time to give me advises and answer any question I have (and sometimes I am very annoying!), he also appraise any name I send to him, and we´re talking about the guy that sets THE price for acronym. domains.

Actually the fact that he never sleeps is not very extraordinary to me (most of the time I did not even remember to sleep), so Is good to know that even when everyone is sleeping, I can exchange "realtime" emails with elequa, he always replies.

Once again, great article, nice work Duke! :)

PS: Forgive my english.

Really well done Ron. Not only are the articles very well said and interesting but the look and feel of the site is also good.

I wish my newsletter ezine I publish looked half as good. How do you do that anyway?

I especially liked the Editorial, as being the owner of more than 400 dot-us names, I am investing heavy in its future potential.

Thanks Krisblade and RealNames. I really appreciate that you took the time to comment. The things Kris said about Elequa are the things I heard over and over about him while working on the article. I had no previous experience with him but as I got to know him during our conversations I came away just as impressed with the kind of person he is as others have been. Take all of the domains and his background out of the picture and you still have an individual that only a sociopath could dislike.

And Kris, stop apologizing about your English! You express yourself very well. I think I can speak for most people here in saying that your English is light years ahead of our Spanish! :)

Realnames thanks for the comments on the design and layout. I really have rudimentary design skills at best. I hate to admit it but I started with a template and just did some minor customization. I'm learning but it will be awhile before I catch up with a lot of the webmasters in this forum.

I sent Elequa UnitedArabEmirates.biz which is not such a bad name?

He told me it was a joke and was worthless, so perhaps I may be biased.

Well written article Duke. But -

1. There is nothing new in it, the article is just stating the obvious: extremely rich guy amasses extremely valuable domains.

2. Article's called "Elequa Unmasked...", but it does very little about that. In order to justify "Elequa Unmasked..." name, this article should have addressed those absolutely legitimate issues brought up by Sir Alex Ferguson.

3. Please leave Michaelangelo alone:) .

You are talented writer, but - dig deeper man.
