If you receive an e-mail from a company called Crucial Domains or something similar offering to sell you a .com version of your existing domain name, DO NOT PURCHASE.

.COM domains can be deleted within 5 days for a full refund. He paid $7.06 for it once it was released and is "tasting" it for 5 days to see if you're willing to pay hundreds of dollars for the domain name. If no one is interested, he will DELETE THE DOMAIN NAME WITHIN 5 DAYS FOR A FULL REFUND FROM THE REGISTRY. Once he deletes it, it will be available for anyone to register.

just add them to your spam list and drive on... Though I have to admit, there was 1 time where it was helpful. I owned a .org of a name... they caught the .com... I waited and waited... it dropped like clock work and I picked it up. Seriously, I don't see any thing wrong with the way they operate or what they do (aside from the unsolicited email). I personally see it as added service. And if you don't want the service, just filter it out IMHO. No harms done. It's an effective (though questionable) business model.

I'm always getting these types of emails from .asia registrars. What lowlifes. I always respond with: "If you pay me $100, register the name at your cost, then maybe, just maybe I will consider owning a crappy .asia domain." A few days later I get another, "Better hurry and register crap.asia before someone else does."

I'd rather get the .com ones like the one noted - at least a .com is worth a little! :upset:

I get them all the time, though I actually used their service once for a .com that I really wanted. No biggy. As Foxo said, if you don't want to hear from them, add them to the junk list. I see it as a useful alert myself.

I have recieved tons of them. And if you will notice, each time there is a different sender address or name/number with the name "crucial" in the URL.

tldrental's email is actually oposite - it is warning against the "we have .com of your .net". Both type of emails are bothersome. I have killfilter @gmail @yahoo @hotmail etc. saves lots of time. People I want to communicate with do not use free email anyway
