bigg..
I was respectful to you and you, in turn, were disprespcetful to me.
This is where the problem lies.
here's my personal opinion, and it's just that...not the forums, admins or other mods.
I did not ask for 'your' opinion about anything. I am asking that the admin reconsider placing a tld in the wrong category.
first...you want respect for who?
you or .mobi?
.mobi is an extension. I doubt it will care if you respect it or not. The respect should be given to those dnf members who are invested in the .mobi extension, and at the very least be placed in the proper category as are all the other hundreds of extensions in existance.
new domainers imo, only want to know about .mobi because they either can't get good .com's or they think .mobi will be the new .com
but it's just my opinion.
Again, I did not ask for your opinoin on .mobi. But now that I see what it is, you are clearly the wrong person to be discussing this with. An open-minded professional would probably be a better choice. Some one who is not bitter for one reason or another.
i ain't bashing... it's just what i think about the subject when it comes to "assuming" what new domainers want to know, and or how they will get "confused" because .mobi is labeled as a cctld on dnf.
i think, and again it's my opinion... that many of you are already confused!
You are just chuck full of opinions I see.
Since you are flooding me with yours, here are mine. I think that the majority of the people who are so against .mobi are those who thought it would be a bad move. Saw what happened with .eu and got scared. Did not take the chance and go for it. I think that most of you 'assume' that only 'newbies' have invested in .mobi. You are 100% incorrect.
I think that if you do not like an extension, you simply do not buy into it. Behaving like children and mocking .mobi investors at every turn is futile. It does nothing to change the fact that .mobi is here, some of us invested in it, and you did not. That was your choice, as much as it was ours to invest.
Dot com was first, and it will always be known as the first. Why you insist on comparing it to .mobi is your own issue.
Sending .mobi to the corner on this 'professional domainer's forum' is immature and incorrect. Regardless of your personal opinion on the validity of the extension.
yeah...i said it, and i still don't care what the label is.
Would u care if .com was put in the cctld section? Assuming you have other extensions in your portfolio.. how about .net, .org or .info? Would you not like to see your extension placed where it should be placed on this forum?
you could label it a "kingtld" and put some of the "crown jewels" around it, spray all kinda sweet perfume on it and put it inside that "pink dress" from the "Drama Queen" image that the other ".mobi lobbyist" posted.
and in the end, it will still only be a .mobi when you strip it down.
I find it amusing you think that gtld is a 'lable' that .mobi does not deserve. Its not a label. Its a fact. .mobi is a gtld, not a cctld. That is all there is to it. It does not belong with country code tld names.
.mobi gotta earn respect
.mobi has to earn respect? What do you mean? Its not a person, its a domain extension. Why does it need to earn your respect? Who are you?
Lets go to ebay and see if they have the dvds listed in the dvd section or in the barbie section. I will bet they have it in the right place. They are not trying to 'spank' the dvds.
That is what this all boils down to. Its a personal nutcase hatred for a domain extension. Dot mobi names had a wonderful day at sedo. a .mobi auction.. what a concept. Sold well over 800k. That is remarkable. Respect that.
I do not recall any .net or .org only auctions. Do they have your respect?
Mej
imo
