I'm currently working on learning Japanese. No particular reason at all, other than that I admire the Japanese culture and language (mostly because of video games and anime ), so I've always wanted to learn the language. I've started learning to read and write Katakana, going to start working on Hiragana as soon as I'm done with the Katakana.

Eh, so, .. I talk to and do business with a lot of Chinese domainers all the time, but I don't think I've been involved with any Japanese domainers yet. Why is that? Are there none? :)

Perhaps the .jp extension is handled so badly they think it's the same everywhere :D

Maybe that's why. :) I also read an article about Japanese mostly using search engines (instead of typing in URLs) to reach websites.

But come on, there must be at least one Japanese domainer here on DNF?! .. :)

There are actually several.

Jonathan comes to mind. I can not remember what his user name is. Does not post much.

I think it is MobileDomainer, but I am not sure.

Ah, Jonathan. I remember the name and you're right. I don't remember his username either but I know I've done biz with him in the past.

I believe he may be an american living in Japan.

There are a couple others (instead of several) but I can not recall who they are.

For the record, .jp is extremely successful and preferred in Japan and they also like (egad! say it ain't so) .mobi

As for more Chinese vs. Japanese members...well, you're looking at over 1.6 billion Chinese to 127 million Japanese, or about 13:1 ratio.

Hehe, when you say it that way.. ;) Anyways, out of 127 million people, I think at least a handful of them should have landed here on DNF.

BTW, what's .mobi? An anime?
