Can anyone recommend a directory plugin for wordpress? I'm trying to create something similar to this doctor directory - http://www.browardhealth.org/physicians/Default.aspx

haha Ya I know...I didn't want to spend a whole lot on development right now. Just trying to get something up before I invest more into it.

i think you might want to use a backend designed just for directories that is styled to blend into your wordpress theme. which one to use i have no idea - not my area of interest.

There is still a free version - It has a paid version for a log time

PHPLinkDirectory.com is another one - That has free and paid version.

Where can I get the free version? I can find phplinkdirectory's 2.2 free version but there is no luck at eSyndicat .

I've found 2 Wordpress options as well:

Directory Press
ClassiPress - not exactly a "directory" but can be used in a similar manner.

That looks interesting - esp unlimited licenses. How easy / hard was it to set up and/or customize?

I guess I would go with the business version ($100) for the Paypal and (coming soon) Google checkout options.

We went with the business version as well. We had it up and running within a couple hours. Not too difficult.

There doesn't seem to be a business version now. Looking at this vs directorypress for a few little projects.
How are you finding it? Happy with it?

http://www.AppThemes.com makes a directory theme for WordPress called 'Vantage'. It is not free but it isn't afully expensive either. You may want to check it out. I am building a site using this software at http://www.Greene.Us.

I know of a few, and own several of them as well (wp directory plugin) like you asked. If you PM me later I will see about hunting down some links. I need to test a couple, but backed up on work.

I have two I believe to work, and then inkthemes has one I haven't tested (or bought) based on price.

Thanks for the reply, have been looking at this too. Sites look great, but worried abot the lack of features in the admin area compared to directorypress and even other apptheme themes such as the classified ads theme- that seems to have a much more comprehensive back-end.

How are you finding it in general, tempted to go ahead with it!
