Wow. Just when you think they couldn't get anymore dysfunctional they sink to a new all time low.

I guess now all you can do is just wait for Stone Philips to show up at your front door.

Already moved it to NameDrive. Instant DNS propagation, gotta love it these days. It shows BOOKS now. God damn it, I am pissed.

I had the exact same problem with a name that had nothing to do with adult themes...I just had to take it off of Sedo...

Makes me wonder how many other names are affected. Sedo has posted this blurb on their web site that makes no sense to me since the keywords I used were far from adult. Also, I have a serious problem with this ****up by Sedo because I have been negotiating a 5-figure sale for this domain for months. Who knows what they will now email me with!

Important Notice Regarding Adult-Related Domains and Keywords

Due to a new policy at our upstream advertising provider, you may notice some changes in the advertisements returned by adult-related domains, or domains with adult keywords set.

What is going to change?
As of today, all domain names classified as adult will now only display ads if the keyword you set is also adult. For example, www.hardcoresexsite.com will not return advertisements if you select the keyword "business". If there is no relevant adult keyword set, adult domains will automatically default to the Adult Portal site. The Adult Portal site features high-paying and relevant adult keywords in a number of categories. Clicks on any of these keywords will generate advertisements and paying clicks!

Why has there been a change?
The new system attempts to ensure that no mainstream advertisers have their ads appear on adult domains. This is a policy decision made by our upstream advertising provider in response to complaints from mainstream advertisers who did not want their brands to be associated with adult domain names. At the same time, the change will deliver better quality traffic to both mainstream and adult advertisers, which over the long run should result in more and higher paying advertisements for all!

What do you need to do?
Please make sure that you’ve selected a relevant adult keyword for all of your adult domains (and relevant non-adult keywords for all of your non-adult domains). If you prefer, you can simply use the keyword "Adult Portal" and the domain will automatically resolve to our Adult Portal site. If you notice any domains that suddenly stop displaying advertisements, it may be that our advertising partner has incorrectly categorized your domain as adult (and is thus filtering everything but adult ads). In this case please send an e-mail to [email protected] with the affected domain name and we will request that the domain name be re-classified.

This may explain why my revenue for the month of March is totally wacked...

Revenue down by at least 50% overall, nearly 75% on my top paying domains, and a CTR down at least 60%. Same amount of traffic but if folks don't find it, they move on.

When I complained to Sedo, I was told "some things are out of my control". Not true. Sedo controls it all...their alliance in regards to who they partner with, the payout, and the links. Specifying keywords is a joke. Specifying a particular language is a joke. Optimizing keywords is totally ignored.

No payment for February due to a lapse in 2007 W9. So I will get February and March payment April 15 only after, of course, I was originally told by the end of this week. Seems Sedo does a great job backtracking and clarifying false and misleading statements rather than being honest and upfront at the onset.

Nearly 2900 domains at sedo. I don't have time to go back and check every damn one. If that is what I have to do, then I might as well go ahead and move them all somewhere else and start anew. Looks like that is the only remedy left. Time for me to take back control of my own portfolio. I will start developing many as soon as taxes are done and I have the time.

Al Gore created the internet...I guess I'll have to take over where he left off.

What I don't get, is this: when I purposedly try to find "hardcore" keywords for my adult domains, the resulting links pale in comparison to the filth that came up onscreen for this non-adult domain.

I found another of my names affected...

Investigare(.)com

"Investigate" in Italian

"Porn" in sedo

I changed the key word and it changed the landing page though...

I honestly can not continue to make sense out of nonsense. The time spend and wasted going over the same issues time and time again with Sedo is exhausting. They just don't get it.

My guess is that Dream books refers to pornography, such as adult fanatasy, I can see where adult sites may include the word "dream" in there keywords.

I see what you mean RaiderGirl, but if you change the key words as Acro did...the landing page should reflect that.

RG, the keywords were "Children Books". If Sedo does not make use of the keywords, then it's pointless.

See keywords at the top right in light gray.
