Sedo does Escrow for 3% if the parties dont reach the agreement through Sedo, they take all the money risk, unlike Moniker, also, I hope you talked to the seller via phone, because a phone-shy person is sometimes an indication of not everything being 100% clean.

Ron raises very good points with respect to Escrow.com.

The transaction risk is indeed more with the seller than the buyer when using Escrow.com; as a buyer, you want to be 100% sure that you have complete control of the domain before closing out your end of the escrow process.

And the “title” point that Ron made is quite apt, and is antithetical to what would be expected in a real-estate escrow process. There is no title insurance with domains!

Thus, the more important/valuable the domain, the more careful and thorough you should be.

Excellent points, Ron!

And God bless you for offering assistance to Minion. You are a good man, Ron!

And best of luck to you Minion.

I hope everything works out for you, my friend,

Kevin Caruso
