When .XXX comes out end this year, will you be participating in the Land Rush? Or do you think its just another rubbish domain extension that should be ignored?

Hihi, you gotta be kidding.

It's going to be the biggest rush of all online times, because unlike .com where nobody really participated, this one will be attended even by the likes of my grandma and her beauty parlor friends.

One thing I've learned from these roll-outs is that you have a better chance of procuring names for yourself if you own a ICANN accredited Registry.

I myself will not be speculating even though I believe this domain will far surpass any new roll out we've seen yet.

I won't be speculating for the simple fact this name WILL BE a marked domain. My guess is you'll still need to keep a .com so that if you need to email you can. Employers I'm sure will block the domain. People forget how much traffic they get from workplaces..Check your logs!!!! Here in the US I'm sure the gov't will try to force the issue of making .XXX a place where porn operators can do business. It makes sense, you can't have an adult establishment within "X" feet from a school, etc. Why should a child be just a few keystrokes from it. It will definitely be easier for parents to block this name. That means adolescent children who would otherwise pay for a yearlong subscription using their parents cc, might not be able to. Has anyone ever wondered how much money is actually made from teenage boys? You cut some of the market, and you just have a regular old internet business.

So after all that is said and done, I don't think all the red tape will be worth it, unless you get Sex.xxx, Porn.xxx, or any of the major fetishes.

Not only you could feel re-auntjudy-venated, but you gotta make some easy money (and domains are after all, easy money, right?) for your Caribbean cruises, cause those old age checks just don't cut that far anymore.

$70 to $75 each for new reggs?
do they mean 'premium' ones like some registries do, or for any .xxx?

anyhow, I still think .coms are all around better even for this industry.

Wow a xxx extension. I been saying this for years...it's just common sense.

The rush to register the xxx extension I believe will be incredible. I wouldn't mind getting 100 names if I can. You might have to make a list of 1000 names I think to get 100 that are actually available. This could take days of research and planning.

ugh

I 'll go for .eu's...cheaper, cleaner
I have to say that I like the idea of moving the xxx sites out of the .com area...a few days I saw freeskins.com in the drops, and I didn't like what it was there previously...

$70 - $75 Registration / Renewal is a little steep for speculation IMO.

I will probably go after a few dozen keywords and end up with a couple, or possibly none at all.

In addition to being very expensive, the .xxx registry claims you won't be able to register them unless you can prove you already have a bonafide adult business (though I have no idea how they plan to verify that). They are also keeping all of the great keywords reserved for themselves (.travel is going to do that too). .US strangled kids.us before it could even get out of the cradle with high prices and too much red tape. It will be interesting to see if .xxx does the same.
