.xxx itself from a technical aspsect isn't a big deal, but how .xxx will be used to restrict content is
Some possible scenerios...
* Adult affiliate programs, content producers, etc may require webmasters to only utilize .xxx domains.
* The U.S. FCC and other regulatory agencies world-wide will likely latch on .xxx as a way of expanding "indecency" laws, similar to those that already exist in the broadcast media, to the internet (and in a weird twist, to cable as well since many folks get internet via cable); introduction of other restrictive TLDs, such as .KIDS, .ADULT, .TEEN, .FAMILY, etc.
* Liability issues for websites outside .XXX which contain adult oriented content ... recall the U.S. federal law which was passed awhile back regarding fooling children into visiting adult oriented sites with deceptive domain names ... well, that law could likely soon apply to most all .COM sites, since the mere use of .COM itself instead of .XXX could possibly be construed as deceptive in a post-.xxx world.
I'm surprised how quickly .XXX arose from the "dead" ... these are changing times indeed
