Looks like the Yanks might win this group......unless Portugal get their act together and USA don't win all their matches, which is quote possible as Korea are not gonna be a walk over, although Belguim should be :)

Without the own goals, I called the score at 2-1 in these very forums :).

How about that for a shake up start!

Go USA!

Thought there are 11 players per team (not to mention backup).
Thus at least 11 families watching, not to mention about their
friends, relatives, colleagues. How you come up with 10 to start
with? Interesting...

My take on this:

It is bad news that Portugal lost as I hope they get through on account of their great style of play. Portugal should still get through as they should beat the other two teams. I expect Poland to trample the US into the ground, therefore the US vs Korea game could be quite important.

Its a pity that Figo was clearly not fully fit, and one or two of the team are past their prime (Vitor Baia & Couto for instance), however Portugal have a guy who was outstanding in the under 21 tournament recently (Vaino?). He orchestrated their win over Englands U-21's.

Personally I have really enjoyed the World Cup thus far, and although it is a cultural thing, dont be surprised is "Soccer" gets more popular in the US in the future, especially if it is getting bigger at grass roots level.
