The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. Our new Top 20 chart is led by the highest sale reported so far this year. It closed at close to $1.7 million and was the second seven-figure sale of 2008. We also saw a pair of six-figure sales that both rank among the year's 15 biggest sales.

In addition to the usual bounty of .com domains, .net had a big week putting four names on the all extension leader board (with three of those hitting the top ten). The .nets did even better on the Global Contenders chart, sweeping the first ten positions.

The Country Code chart was led by a .co.uk domain, but Germany's popular .de extension won the overall numbers game piling up 13 of 20 chart entries. You can get all of the details here: http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm

A couple of days ago our review of the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West 2008 conference in Las Vegas was published. Since then we have added a Photo Gallery to the report. We had some very nice shots (many of people you may know) that weren't used in the main article so we set up the Gallery to allow readers to enjoy them. That is located here:
http://www.dnjournal.com/events/2008/traffic-west-photo-gallery.htm

By the end of the week our new March Cover Story will also be out. It is a profile of Lawrence Ng, the 29-year-old co-founder and CEO of domain industry giant Oversee.net (parent of DomainSponsor, Moniker and the DOMAINfest Global conference). If you like entrepreneurial stories I think you will enjoy reading how Ng got started in business and how he built the Oversee empire that continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

sometimes i think it has nothing to do with the domain and everything to do with the seller when it comes to some of these big-price deals

It is nice to see two-worders bringing in this kind of money. I hope that it is a trend...

Good to see huge domain sales under such economic conditions. Thus proving that domain business is holding up well against the ongoing recession.

Waiting for that cover story too. Proven to be great inspiration source!

The new Cover Story is out. It is a profile of Oversee.net Co-Founder and CEO Lawrence Ng, who at the age of 29 has already built a $200 million company that continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Oversee is the parent company of domain industry institutions DomainSponsor, SnapNames and Moniker and they also own 600,000 domain names of their own as well as powerful developed sites in the mortgage and travel categories. You can read how Ng (who is an experienced marathon runner) sprinted to the front of the pack here:
