I doubt it...those are affiliate links in the banner ads. So...dnforum gets paid hefty sum for the monthly ad banner placement.....AND...they get a piece of the action regarding any and all signups from banner ad clickthru's via the affiliate links....which equates to a double whammy...:)

If you have your own affiliate software you can create yourself and account, set the payout to zero, generate a link code and attach it to each campaign you promote so you can have a clear view of the productivity.

I don't think anything fishy is going on here. It all looks very normal to me.

If you mouse over my DigiPawn banner on http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm you will see that I'm doing it there. DigiPawn has an affiliate program, RLA does not at this time so I can't do it here.

Ad position is ok but I too didn't saw it in the first place while reading the first post. Maybe that's because I didn't saw any before there and didn't get used to it.

As for the design (I know you didn't asked that but I doubt you'll say "No" to an opinion because every now and then things can be improved) it's too gray.

If you want to go with dark color scheme, gray is not an option for me (looks like your design washed off with too many views like black clothes). Make some contrast, change some colors or hire a designer to make you a real atractive ad this one is boring and reminds me of the websites in late 90s.

Just a friendly reply.
