here are the terms & conds published by sedo on this pre-regging, i'll read it carefully after i get some sleep, ( .tv had posted this as Item 6 of one of his posts also but that link was for the german version) the english trans is :

part 6 stands out in that we could be charged "admin / reg" fees imposed by the registrar,
so getting all your $ back if you don't get the name seems to be in there, but if you get the domain, how about paying an admin/reg fee to some unknown registrar which may be > the price of the name ?! and don't think this is far-fetched at all as a possibility...
no word as far as i can see as to being locked w/a pre-set renewal rate, that would piss me off big time if we could not transfer to somewhere else after 60 days, someone mentioned we could before on this thread, hope that's the case otherwise i agree w/the member who said there would be so many dropped .DE's in the 1st yr, also, remember this is tantamount to orig hand reggin for a name, the rules of transferring names as we know them may not apply, or may require some "approval" by some entity, this is .DE and not com, net, org & info...those ccTLD's come w/enough strings attached or you may not be able to move the domain for some time, what if it's some euro-trash registrar/reseller w/lousy security... lol, just to pick on gool old europe, there are 1,000s of those all over the world, we all know some
also, on Sedo you only get one shot at pre-reg bidding, you can't increase it i read somewhere, and knowing Sedo you most certainly cannot cancel it unless you got a pass from god ...lol
i'm real surprised DENIC isn't having one of the auctions on this, you'd think they'd have 1st say on this, not auction sites or registrars (+ some registrars are having silent auctions too, uh ? all we needed...)
looks like Sedo's fiercest competitors (GoDaddy, SnapNames, AfterNic, etc) for auctions won't get a piece of this.... any other big names we'd all know doing this pre regging ...? i should swing by NamePros before noon just to see what our buddies there think of all this...

6. Fees
There are no fees associated with the .DE Pre-Auction other than the value of Your bids....Please be advised that this excludes any administrative or registration fees set forth by the respective registrar...
