The new Asus Infinity tablet has resolution that you are likely not to see in any other tablet (at present).

Eh? From what I've read it will sport a 1920x1200 screen, while the 3rd gen iPad has a killer 2048x1536 resolution. :) I tell you, remote desktop in 2048x1536 really rocks!

Let me remind you for those who can't read. This thread is about the Ipad and Internet Tablet.

All other posts will be deleted. If you can't read then go back and signup for a reading class.

Your 99% correct, It's about the NEW IPAD,

NOT Nexus
NOT Android
NOT how you gave your IPAD away to impress other members.

And most importantly NOT about other Internet Tablets, I don't see anything in the original post that suggests that do you?.

This thread was created for the purpose of "Ipad users" sharing their experience with the IPAD 3, to address a concern about "OverHeating"

So if a member does NOT own a IPAD 3 and cant give a hands-on opinion of the product, WTF is he doing posting here? other than derailing a perfectly legitimate thread?

The irony of how a member quotes the bible yet does not live by the bible. Those words must taste like sour, putrid vinegar coming out of that mouth.

Stian is right. The NEW iPad does sport those specs. I still prefer Android over Apple's closed system call iTunes. And I'll take the much faster Quad-core Tegra 3 processor on the Nexus 7 for my needs.

I am the Mod - It's not you to moderate the forum.

Who gives a crap what you prefer?

Infraction given.

When you started this thread, were you interested in Nexus? Android? ITUNES or other Internet Tablets?

Or were you interested in the opinions of Apple Ipad 3 owners? People who actually own Ipads?

I am the Mod - It's not you to moderate the forum.

Where did you get that from? You say that we should READ, and that's exactly what I did, I read the OT and see NOTHING in reference to other Tablets.

Maybe you can point it out to me.

Stay away from the thread if you have nothing to contribute.

It's not your job to tell people what they should and should not post.

I am not going to argue with you.

I actually have a lot to contribute because unlike the knowitall, I have a IPAD 3 and if you READ post #11 I actually did contribute to the OVERHEATING problem, which was the ORIGINAL topic, the very topic the OP asked for.

By all means, if you are in Apple's corner, buy the iPad 3 if you are concerned with having to rebuy apps.

If you are pad neutral at present, consider the host of Android tablets on the market, especially the Nexus 7.

If you can wait and are sticking with Apple, consider waiting for the iPadmini due out this fall that is rumored to also have retina display along with a price point of $199 and $249.

All of this is information you were perhaps not able to find anywhere else.

My advice to you is to read reviews from people who have actually OWNED a IPAD 3, NOT from people who haven't.

One thing I learned is people who push another product are not always doing it in your best interest, they push it in the interest of them self, For example the Apple haters of the world. Here you set your mind on a particular product, it's a product you clearly want and therefore you should try it out, because if you don't and you take the advice of someone else, you will always be second guessing your decision.

I once took the advice from a guy who pretended to know what he was talking about, I trusted him and went with it, as a result I lost over $800 and a lot of time and frustration. My suggestion to you is purchase the IPAD 3, you can buy it at BestBuy for the same price at Apple and if you don't like for whatever reason within a 14 day period, you can return it.

The problem is that no matter how high specs Android-based devices have, Apple's iOS will always run smoother and faster on Apple's devices. The different Android tablets all feature different hardware from different manufacturers, designed to work on the same OS (Android), while Apple optimizes their OS to run on only one particular line of hardware. Resulting in a much more stable and fast user experience.

I consider myself highly tech savvy, been doing computer support, network security and server/hardware configuration for many years and I still prefer Apple's devices and I have yet to come across something I can do on Android devices that I can't do on Apple devices. If you want a more open iPad then it will take you 30 seconds to jailbreak it. Android devices are also locked for many features if you don't root them (you don't have root access on factory Android devices, so what you can install/access is limited).

Also regarding iTunes, I don't even have iTunes installed on my computer. The latest iOS updates over wifi anyways and I can sync my files via DropBox/iCloud and numerous other services, so you never need to sync it with iTunes anylonger (which is great, because I HATE iTunes).

The reason I always fall back to iOS is because of its speed, stability and unmatched app library.

With that being said, I'm not an Apple fanboy. I swear to desktop PC's (and Windows) for my daily work and I would never swap out my custom i7 Ivy Bridge rig with a MacBook Pro, iMac or Mac Pro. I just love Apple's mobile devices. :)

I do too, and so do the tens of millions of other people who bought them.

Some people will complain about one product just so they can make themselves feel better about the product they bought. And when your the leader of the pack, they will go out there way to tear you down, finding fault with just about anything imaginable.... Apple simply delivers a superior product across the board from Hardware to Software as you point out, Buyers know quality when they see it, that's why Apple Ipad sales far outnumber Android based tablets, dominating the market.

I have to admit, that 27" iMac is a work of art and a thing of beauty.

DISCLAIMER: Yes, I have been ratted out. I own stock in every Android tablet and phone made to include Google, Samsung, Asus, Iconia, Acer, ZTE, Sony/ericcson, Sharp, Samsung, Pantech, toshiba, sanyo, lenovo, LG, Motorola, HTC, Dell and more. I owned stock in Apple which I gave away to a friend when it hit $600 a share.

And if you buy that scenario, have I got a deal for you...

It's decent for a "normal" computer user. I mean .. The screen is great and it is fairly powerful (at least for a few months after you've bought it), but for those who like to swap out motherboards, CPU, RAM, graphics cards and constantly upgrade their rig then Macs are not an option. :)

Also @Raider, I don't really think Gerry is bashing Apple here like you insinuate, but he sounds pretty on point to me. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. :)

It is a matter of personal taste. I had the original iPad and when I got the Transformer tablet, I stopped using the iPad. Like everyone else, if you want upgrades on your iPad, you buy the new iPad. I get OS upgrades on the Android phone and tablet. That does not replace the processor or features (on both products, actually) but I do like the features (speed, camera, apps) of my Android tablet and phone - most notably the WiFi tether and Mobile Hotspot that you and I discussed on this very forum a couple of years ago. Why pay for that service when it comes free with the Nexus 1? So, why pay for a tablet with 3g or 4g when all I need is my phone as my hotspot?

I've been using my iPhone 4S as a wifi hotspot for ages now (used iPhone 4 before the 4S came out). That feature has been free for a ages, at least in Norway. I remember that you had to pay for it though, in the beginning when the feature was introduced. I got 4G on my iPad 3 though, as it's easier and it saves my phone's battery life when I'm out traveling.

BTW, lol yeah we did love that feature when it came out a couple years ago. ;)

Point is, there are options and a trove of information to be shared on this forum. Perhaps the OP was not aware of some of the options including a smaller footprint and lower cost iPad 7 inch coming out this fall as well as viable options (Nexus 7 tablet) on the market now.
