Yes, Clinton had his chance, took it and missed.
Now, how many chances did Bush have? Did the urge or need to take out bin Laden suddenly diminish with the change of the guard? No chance.
Was Bush getting daily intel briefings? Absolutely. Even as a candidate, Bush was getting daily intel briefings.
Reading and listening to people like Tenant, Clarke, and other former intel and Bush insiders, Bush had between 17-19 chances to take out Osama with concrete hard intel gathered on the ground. All it took was to be given the green light to do it. But Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush did not view Osama and the Taliban a threat and Afghanistan did not fit in with Bush's plans.
So rather than lay blame on Clinton for taking a shot and missing, its okay for Bush to have had the chance(s) and been too chicken shit to take it?
How can you feel good about the post 9-11 aftermath when there is a possibility it could have been averted?
The fact that nothing was done in the months leading up to 9-11 does not erase the deaths of thousands of people here in the states. And the "rallying" around the attack and using that as the battle cry and as an excuse to invade Iraq and contributing to hundreds of thousands of deaths is a national and international disgrace.
Just as much a national and international disgrace as the
Mission Accomplished banner.
Big Gulp: A group of humans that rely on the words of another.
Obama: A leader that blames his mistakes on others.
And your reliance?
I get a big kick out of reading, listening, hearing all these bush insiders talk and discuss what went on in the closed Bush society.
Obama does not have to blame others.
But I will.
Bush is a national disgrace and a war criminal. The same is true for Cheney, Rumsfled, Rove, Libby, and Gonzalez. Not only did they falsify and fabricate intelligence (I know, hard to use that word "intelligence" in the same sentence with these people) to justify invading Iraq, the VP's office gave the go ahead to drop the name of Valerie Plame as being a CIA operative in Africa because her husband came out against the war in Iraq. That, comrade, is treason at the highest level.
Obama is an idiot for allowing the investigation into interrogation tactics as Bush has already issued a Presidential Pardon for him and his staff back in the fall of 2005. This would be a huge waste of taxpayer dollars, just like the Kenneth Starr special counsel debacle.
Enjoy watching people defend Bush's actions when his own people do not.
