i almost bought these names, but I was lucky and I could reach Wingate on the phone.
I was soooo lucky!
JP, if you have any information about any people involved here on DNF in stealing domains you HAVE no choice but to reveal it!. Why don't you start a thread about
these people? I lost 1k a month ago on a e-gold transaction, and almost lost 25k
on hq.net and nb.net. I think stolen names is a big threat to our community, and the industry.
The problem is that domain name is not a property - it is a license based product.
Let's say I go and bu a house, and it turned out to be wrongfully acquired by the
current owner. Since I purchased this property in good faith and didn't know it was stolen I am going to be keeping this property, and the person from who it was stolen will
be compensated from the insurance fund where all real estate agents are paying monthly fees. In our particular case the person who buys a stolen domain name is not protected at all! The righful owner, who didn't protect emails, who had a trojan on his/her computer
will get the name sooner or later back, but the person who spent the funds to acquire th ename will never recover any money.
I think that if you have any information about any of the users involved you should let everyone know asap. The person's account might be hijacked and you will make other
people aware about possible problem in the future.
