It seems that the usernames on twitter can be like domain names...
What is your username on twitter?
Yes, I think the usernames can be quite valuable.
I have @investigators
added. Oh, and nice generic grab. How long ago did you grab yours?
I really think their search function rivals google. It's the fastest source of news and information on the Internet by far.
Twitter will bust into the top 10 most used sites of 2009.
2 million visitors in January. 4 million in February. It doesn't take long to figure out twitter has a huge future.
who owns it???...looks like CNN has something to do with it...they talk about it every few hours. lmao
@adult is right, the true power of twitter is in the search function.

User name squatting is against the Twitter Rules
Name squatting and "user name for sale" accounts will be permanently suspended. Attempts to sell or extort other forms of payment in exchange for user names will result in account suspension. Accounts that are inactive for more than 6 months may be removed without further notice.
"User names for sale
Selling free user names is against the Twitter Rules. If someone has tried to sell you a Twitter user name, please let us know."
Follow me at http://twitter.com/LarryWentz
Just don't announce that your twitter account is for sale publicly.
Second, common sense applies. Don't register twitter.com/google
Other than that, people will come to you if you got a screaming generic. Of course mine's not for sale.![]()
I choose to follow their rules & will use the Twitter community to connect with others which is the purpose of their site. If you want to be deceitful & break their rules ...... then I don't recommend anyone to follow your advice.
Nice, I never thought of it this way.
They rank pretty good in google. Mine is second for my username:

Wait a second. How am I deceitful? And how am I breaking their rules?
Easy - you advised everyone "Just don't announce that your twitter account is for sale publicly." & also said "Other than that, people will come to you if you got a screaming generic. Of course mine's not for sale. (with a little smiley face after that - hint-hint)
If you were honest about it you would say "Twitter rules say you can't sell your account/names & I recommend everyone to follow the rules. Instead you chose to advise people to not announce publicly that your twitter account is for sale.
I stand by my statement - you are advising people incorrectly. You are not allowed to sell your Twitter accounts - that is the rule.
