I wish someone at Sedo would explain why my TexasHoldem domain site was only earning 9 euro cents and 11 euro cents per click earlier this week and is now earning 1.53 euros a click. Don't get me wrong here, I am not complaining (I may be daft, but I'm not that daft). It has been a good domain from the start, but as I have not changed anything I just want to know how this increase has arisen (so that I can do it for my other domains :-D ).

Any help would be appreciated.

ive been told that if the domain is related to that keyword you get the high
ppc payout for that keyword but if the domain is not related to that keyword
you make lowest ppc payout somthink like $0.03

example: TexasHoldem.com with keyword Texas Holdem should get high
payout ppc

but if you have somethink like flowers.com with the keyword games you make lowest ppc payout.

Thats what i was told

Regards,

Chris

that doesnt make a lot of sense..there is no way there is a database that rules what is related or not..that just sounds like a rip off..if I have a site that is a realty site and someone types in mortgage rate..I get like 30 cents..how is that not related.plus.its still a real search that is very targeted..google doesnt care what the site was the search came from..

it almost looks like they changed something in the system again..this is crazy..I have no time to put up with this, I am making 40% less today than usual..I make about 10K month and you would think with that many domains there is some consistency..not the case...no explanation from Sedo either..typical...

i did have a domain making $1.48 ppc with the keyword mortgage
and then after the new changes last month i make $0.03 ppc for the
same keyword. so i wrote them a email and that what they said above.

i liked it the old way make $1.48 for a un-related domain for a un-related keyword.

i think this was the link for the new system changes: http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=172555

They should ban users for using unreleated Keyword .This is what hurts the most the domain industry after click fraud.

its not about using an unrelated keyword, its about defining what unrelated is..I have a typo of a dictionary site..people are looking for all kinds of things..if you have a site thats a search portal..you gotta get clicks for all kinds of keywords...if you have a Poker site like someone mentioned here..do you think the well paying keyword casino games is related or not?..All I say is that Sedo should pay out a fair amount..they can check traffic and revenue and conversion for their advertisers all they want..all I want is a fair share..and they are not doing that right now

Hi Gemsergio,

Just to clarify the situation the key word for the domain parking is and always has been 'poker' since I registered the domain and parked it at Sedo earlier this month!

But the present system seems to be much worse at Sedo than the old system, now domainers cannot tell from one day until the next what domain keywords will pay what! What is more we are not informed by Sedo what are good keywords and what are not, even when we ask!

Further can you tell me then what is the related keywords for domains such as 'This', 'That', 'White', 'Green', 'AKLJ', 'Foam', etc.?

I am not accusing anyone just saying that if you have a domain like flowers.com and you use mortgage as a keyword you should be banned immediatley from any parking service.
If you own flowers.com and on valentine you choose as a keyword valentine gifts it would be ok.
Its just my opinion nothing else.

Now I know why I prefer regging domains for resale than for ppc!

Just saw someone at the TRAFFIC auction wanted $470K for Iran.com, there's me selling Iran.St for minimum offer of $250 on Sedo. That is a much better return than saying I will get a few euro cents per click for the undeveloped domain.

Yea, but if you can make a few cents/dollars on the domain while your trying to sell it then you're doing even better.

Well by the looks of it Sedo fixed it for me alright!

I have just earned 3 euro cents for a click through, my lowest ever on this domain!

So yesterday was 1.53 Euros, today is 0.03 Euros! Hell, do they know what they have done to their reputation that was already generally shot to pieces?

Sara I would like to thank you for all your help from the bottom of my heart. (I would from the bottom of my wallet but I am afraid to look in there whilst thinking of Sedo, you might nick the dust that has accumulated there!)

Sedo does something great like the new auction option system and at the same time comes up with total c**p like this new click system (if you can call it a system?).

An interesting point... Maybe that is the reason of all the problems with some domains... I would never park a domain with natural-typein traffic at SEDO to begin with. Fabulous.com or skenzo were always paying more for such domains. I am however parking domains with "expired" traffic at SEDO. Some johndoe22.com used to be dvd store before and sedo promptly approved my 'buy dvd' keyword for it, and it is correct KW since the click ratio is >40%.
Now, they are paying $0.03 just because it is not buydvd.com domain parked? If so, what a ripoff!
I should however notice that SEDO-recommended 'keyword playing' game MAY result better earnings. I recently changed a keyword to something similar at one domain, like 'wi fi' to 'wireless' OR 'house care' to 'home improvement' or vice versa and the payout was changed from euro 0.04 to euros 0.45 per click
