Two things...

first, has anyone reported any criminal charges being filed against Halverez? Is he going to walk?

secondly, the deadbeats are everywhere. I may be facing two back-to-back deadbeats on Sedo.

I have encountered 3/6 in the past two months.

and I believe at least 30% of the auctions I have been involved in on Namejet (150-200 of them) have had to re-auction.

Does homer ever pay for anything he wins? So far the only one I have seen is bridgeloan.com

smartinvestments.com was reauctioned. He was the high bidder the first time around. leathercompany.com has had the pending renewal/delete whois from December 11.

Let's see what happens with onetrade.com and guitarsupply.com

Yea, I noticed this some time ago. That is why I have never backordered anything from them.

There needs to be a closer look at these places. What they are doing amounts to nothing but being illegal.

ICANN needs to step in. I liked the old days when you waited for them to drop. Now it feels like extortion.

It's been a while since I updated this thread :D

Another deadbeat winner at Namejet:

domain: solartree.com
winner: sogray
price: $2,604
date: 2/11/2010

Domain was reauctioned and won by the 1st auction's runner up bidder. It's interesting to note how much a deabeat bidder raises an auction's price: in the first auction, the runner up bid $2,504 only to lose the domain. In the second round, he won it with a $560 bid. That's $2k of a difference!

Another deadbeat winner at Namejet:

domain: govideo.com
winner: qqqqq
price: $18,100
date: 3/13/2010

The winner, qqqqq, bid on several other domains during the same period so hopefully he's banned by now.

GoVideo.com is back on auction. The second legit bid of the previous round was $18,000.

GoVideo.com ended at $7,104 this time around. Amazing what a deadbeat scammer can do. Anyone remember halvarez and his auction pumping?

Ah, is that why I suddenly have another chance to bid on it?

(Psst, everybody - do me a favor and just pass this domain auction by, OK? Thanks!) ;)

Doesn't NameJet do what Pool does by closing their accounts?

The more of these deadbeats they get rid of, the more money we could be saving.

If the newyorker guy gets account closed, could have saved me $300 for a domain i just won.

The most important thing is he cost me 30 mins to outbid him and 30 secs to reply the post, it's 4:30 am here.:veryangry::veryangry::veryangry:

Wire, thanks but I don't think it's fair mentioning the runners up next to the deadbeats.

Depends on the suspicious activity. I can remove names if you know they are clean. But some of them are bidding high on multiple auctions and losing possibly intentionally?

Feel free to PM me or send an email to ed at namemon.com and we'll be sure to pull clean bidders.
