If I didn't know better I would say that he actually wanted to lose the URDP case. Would this not set case law which in turn would actually help domainers with similiar sounding domain names.

If this is true, Rick is my hero. He took one for the team.

Even hinting that Rick intended to lose the UDRP to strengthen the opposition, is ridiculous. No, I take that back. It is PREPOSTEROUS.

Rick untook the UDRP for greed, pure and simple. And he lost.

George hasn't "hidden" or ducked" anything. If anyone is missing, Rick is AWOL. He is never too busy to hawk T.R.A.F.F.I.C. to the masses, but he is certainly scarce today.

So your whole point of this exercise is to provoke him into responding to you? The best "move" anyone could make in this situation (if we are talking strategy) would not to make one at all. In situations like this, you let your opponents fall on their own sword which is why I'm guessing Rick isn't touching this one with a 10-ft pole.

Rule# 1 - Don't lower yourself. Stick to the high road, and don't apologize for running your business as one.

Yes, he lost, but in doing so he actually "won". Either way. You defend your business interest to the nth degree, or become someone's whipping boy.

Sounds like doublespeak.

Despite his rhetoric, Rick didn't choose the "high road." It appears he made a bogus claim.. for greed.

Why would you praise Rick for being the bad guy? It doesn't make any sense.

Keep repeating: loss is win, loss is win, loss is win, loss is win. If you keep it up long enough, maybe someday somebody somewhere will believe it.

Rick Schwartz "Domain King" V. Slavik Viner "Xedoc"

This must be what happened. I understand Rick and Slavik are very good friends. There is no way either would bring a UDRP against other out of anger. It's a staged case for a mutual end. Regardless of our opinion of the individual players.

You know your opponent is grasping for straws when the labels start coming out. Frankly, I think of myself as someone who appreciates a good ole' ass whooping. Consider yourself lucky Hal, I didn't totally humilate you. Just ask GeorgeK what I am capable of....and I consider him a friend.

p.s Don't forget I defended you a while back back when no one would. Remember? I think you did end up getting your money back. I don't play favorites.

Interesting. Didn't voyuer.com go down for something like $100,000 at Pool? How much is a UDRP pursuit like this? Is it cheaper to acquire traffic typo names this way? Who cares anyway? yawn.

The big question is how does UDRP square with Rick's TRAFFIC west theme?

The theme of TRAFFIC west is supposedly about domain theft.

This UDRP looks an awful lot like what Rick is supposedly condemning at his show..

The theory that Rick did this for 'the benefit of others' seems a little far fetched. Having a bad reputation with UDRP isn't a good thing, why would he risk tarnishing his reputation further for any reason other than self gain?

Reverse domain hijacking via UDRP is not new, it can save a corporation a lot of money in attempting to protect their IP assets. It can also be an effective way to acquire new domains without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy the name outright, but just a couple of thousand for the cost of UDRP intimidation. However, this can cut both ways, it may turn badly against your legal reputation if your targeted sheep decides to fight back. The learning here appears to be, don't risk it.

For sure, mole. It can hurt their reputation so much, that they're left silent and speechless.

Maybe start a list of reverse domain hijackers and the cases they've initiated against people in bad faith. Then class action against them, suing for every penny they're worth. Anyone doing this on a consistant basis does not deserve to be in business and a history of it will certainly destroy their reputation and their company when it is discovered and fought with full force.

However, I still don't quite understand this particular case. The case filed was for a typo / mispell of voyeur.com correct? and the typo was voyuer.com? Has "The King" owned the correct version for a long time and operated successfully on it? If so, I would think he wouldn't be out of line trying to acquire a typeo of one of his popular sites. Someone please clear this up for me.
