I like the format much better than traffic, but they should have got a better auctioneer. He confuses the price on every single name.

I agree with the format, it blows Moniker away, As for the auctioneer, its his first domain auction as he admitted, he's doing a OK job and it appears he's getting the hang of it, but I still like Monikers auctioneer better.

Did you guys see BudgetProperty.com with 443 bidding in the house? My stream showed 2 internet bids on top of the house before the auctioneer said "gone."

Sucks that the online guys are going to miss out on some of these names because of the video delay. I guess that's why the internet gets the proxy bids though.

Now up to 1217 viewers and nobody had to pay $300-$500 to see it or place bids.

That was my name in the auction and my screen actually went black at at around 6k. Talk about someone pissed.

Overall, the on-line bidding is working well - for those few experiencing probs, it's likely their internet connection; sometimes it pays to be in person ... or if unable to be, then use proxy bidding - that way one doesn't miss a good deal even if the connection craps out.

I have Baked.com in the auction coming up soon ... reserve is a bit high, but it's not outrageous considering estibot appraises the domain only at $37K which doesn't fully take into account its brandability / traffic, I have serious offers in the $20K+ range already outside the auction ... keeping my fingers crossed ... anyone interested in it, assuming it's unsold, feel free to email / pm me.

Ron

No one bid on Baked.com ... and then the sound system went out LOL!

Lost the video feed here for about 40 names. Suggest an independant back up feed next year. Otherwise very impressive.

All these auctions are ridiculous. Who selected these domain names for auction? They took almost all .coms and shitty ones at that. They need to boost the .net, .org and .info markets by adding them to these auctions and they will actually sell! A lot of investors enter the market after seeing the domain name auction headlines so all they want to buy is .coms. These people need to come to their senses...coms are not the only valuable extension. I would rather spend 9k on a premium .info over 9k on LaserPens.com!? They make me sick.

I would rather spend 9K for laserpens.com with traffic, than spend 9k for pens.info with no traffic. Not all buyers are reselling.

.COM is where the action is ... like it or not...

It's not much different than how 800, and to a lesser extent 888, toll free prefixes are far more sought than 877, 866, and 855 (proposed)...

The public at-large has spoken, as in .com is what people most recognize / trust, and thus the domain marketplace is responding accordingly by favoring .com over the other gTLDs.

Ron

p.s. picked up DomainList.com for $7100 in the auction.

yea, a lot of action at the auction...give me a break.

Which might be why you dont have any sales? I wouldnt pay regfee for LaserPens.com, there is no value in it. On the other hand, I could sell Pens.info for 20k by midnight.

Who selected these domain names for auction?
Some of those names are true stinkers - no question about it. However, I am very impressed with the auction format. Live video feed with auto-updating bids and the ability to submit my bid live online. DomainTools has done a killer job utilizing technology.
