In addition to his work on domain name technologies and content tools, Pearce is a mobile standards expert and has worked with a number of standards bodies, including the W3C Mobile Web Best Practices Working Group. Prior to dotMobi, Pearce served as CTO at Argogroup, where he specialized in user experience optimization for mobile and converged applications.

Earlier, at AnywhereYouGo.com – a top destination for mobile developers – Pearce launched the Wireless Internet Lab, a professional services environment for mobile developers to test and validate mobile applications before launching, and before that, launched and ran the WAPtastic mobile development community.

Agreed.

Here in the mTLD mail room, it's difficult to know what is happening up the corporate ladder.

I bet you didn't know that Sashas and Fearless have been working there for nearly six months - it's down to them that these threads keep going....sterling work boys!

Now I am really beginning to understand why the .mobi kickers get so peeved.

Do you not realise that this constant baraging of useless self (as in .mobi) promoting amd esteeming is so counter productive? Or is it the general view of .mobi supporters that anything in the threads is good because it mentions .mobi?

I personally think you have fallen into the trap laid by the .mobi kickers whereby you use this forum as a private advertising venue. This has so turned people off of .mobi that could otherwise have been persuaded of its use. I have actually tried to warn before that this is the wrong policy.

Have you ever worked for a Fortune 500 company, Vision? I can assure you, these credentials tell very little. The amount of PR in place is astounding. Furthermore, I don't recognize these names. Argo Interactive? AnywhereYouGo.com? Digicel...in Grenada? That's some serious stuff. Not!

Key, used to. The Net Sol debacle happened after his reign.

Get your facts in line.

I might tend to agree with you on some points.

But as I have repeatedly pointed out, the people reading this are domainers. Basically, we have no say in global commerce. We wish we did, we think we do, we ought to.

But the reality is 99.99% of the world's population could care less about the argument one way or another.

There's another .mobi auction coming up at Traffic, it's going to be high profile because there are a lot of great .com's in the auction as well, so expect good press coverage.

It'll be another indicator of how the .mobi market is going.

.mobi's to be auctioned:

Banks.mobi
Broadway.mobi
Doctor.mobi
Hollywood.mobi
Lottery.mobi
Naked.mobi
Porn.mobi
Property.mobi
Score.mobi
Tickets.mobi
Vegas.mobi

Plus, Sedo still has to re-run their .mobi auction that had the tech problems the first time.

All taken care of behind the scenes. ;)

There isn't gonna be a re-auction.

Need to be patient for finalization.

So .. lets say for example .. porn.mobi doesn't hit $20K will it be rerun?

It's a live auction, plus I don't think Moniker has ever had to redo a whole auction. I bet they'll be ready. Doesn't matter to me whether they sell for $1 or $10,000,000 each, but I think the results will say something about the .mobi market.

In all fairness, Digicel is one of the biggest Wireless players in Caribbean ;) Much bigger than Cable & Wireless

..having said that, this is YET ANOTHER useful post from Vision LOL

It's not helping. Traffic is the same and I made 3 cents this month so far.

You should read my blog then instead of sasquatch's! :D

I thought you didn't need a .com to drive traffic to a .mobi; it's supposed to "magically" happen :D
