Thats a stupid point....upgrading with DNF....

for an Exlusive membership, it says I need something like 34,000 more DNF....so what the hell is the point of that.....no one around here has nearly that much....

the lifetime thing is also stupid....if something happens to the forum or the admin, we are left out in the cold.

If you were giving free drops and such, than $400 would be a great investment....but charging $400 just to have access is robbery....

I wonder how Adam can sleep at night after doing this.... $1100 to have a membership in a forum, LOL

I am going to let my Platinum membership expire (no, I dont have a lifetime one, lol) and I dont think I will renew...but thats still 1/2 a year away from happening....by that time we will have 23 different levels, one named after each metallic element, and we will have had 4 different leaders who each change thngs around so they get richer....

I'm sorry but you paid for what was available at the time. What adam is offering is "extra" services you *%(*&#*$&W.

God... Is it that difficult to comprehend? It's no wonder why the cable business is such a shit hole to be in. Any time you want to add services to your customers experience THEY continue to feel they should be "upgraded" at no cost.

That's my rant for the day. Sorry Nuguru, but nothing against you, I'm just tired of the "nonsense".

Okay - I went to try and use DNF - looks like it gives you $1 off for every 100 DNF - so my 1800 DNF gets me an $18 discount...

Well, it was a nice thought while it lasted...LOL

and they think offing 1 extra DNF$ per post is such a great deal...?? Yay! I now get $1 USD for every 100 posts I make....wont that just pay for the membership in the long run....lol

It will also afford those who can "afford it", the means to do business in a safe and congenial manner.

As far as the "Life-time membership" thing, I think it's up to the individual. Again, if you are doing serious business will it matter to you whether it's "life-time" or not. The benefit for the "life-time" membership is that you won't have to "re-new" every year. Also, who knows what the price for annual membership will be next year. note: If Domain Business continues to grow and I were Adam, you bet I would increase the fees each year

You are exactly right Izopod.

Nobody is being FORCED to upgrade. If you do not want to upgrade, then keep your platinum account and keep doing things like you have been doing.

As far as Lifetiem Memberships, this was implemented to help members SAVE money. We could have stayed with $50 per year for ever. However, we understand that some people are in for the long haul. If you fit this description, then this offer should be a great option for you. If you are unsure whether to get a lifetime membership, then continue to pay the annual $50 fee as was implemented before. I do not understand the fuss over the lifeftime option when it was meant as a means to help you.

Unfortunately, after I paid I was stripped of all membership status and lost all of the live links in my signature - but other than that it's all hunky dory! :- )
Duke, I think people are "overlooking" the point, because I still can't find anywhere that clearly states HOW MANY DNF are required for any action. I'm not sure how many DNF you had, but I have 2202. I'm looking around, and guessing that 2202 DNF$ equates to $22.02. Unless I win the DNF lottery three or five times in a row, I can't see where I'd get anywhere near enough to pay for an exclusive lifetime membership. I guess I should go start some flame threads? :) Duke, where'd ya get all that DNF, mon?!

It has already been changed then. I saw nothing like that. Undoubtedly due to some early bugs. In fact while it told me the price to upgrade was $849 it only took $84 DNF from my account! The bug must have only read the first two digits.

As I have already posted - the Upgrade section confirms I already am at the highest possible level. If it was a mistake - which it appears to be, I have no problem with being reset to Platinum. Any system can have bugs on the initial rollout.

Why is ti stupid? It helps reward the active people on the forum. They can use their DNF to help offset upgrade costs if they choose to do so.

GT-Web,

Why are you complaining ? The mods worked hard to give you more than you paid for by adding extra things to plat.

You are not being forced to upgrade so whst' your issue?

I only had about 1200 DNF - but when I clicked the Upgrade button it told me $849 was due and gave DNF as an option for payment. I clicked on it and it was accepted saying I was now a Liftetime Exclusive Member. Obviously appears to have been a system bug. Now I am Sub-Bronze LOL. I'll be happy just to get my old status back! :- )

Update - Looks like I have been made whole again! Well, for one brief shining moment in time I was actually Exclusive. The front page number even went from 3 to 4 (but is back to 3 again).
Easy come easy go!
