Hey, nobody told me about that, where do I collect! :)

I remember the good ol' days when moderators supported the forum, becuase they cared about the community and enjoyed helping people....

That's why I'm here.

May I offer a few CAT Thoughts?? ;-)

There is NOTHING to be concerned about! Why you ask?

Simple:

Platinum Members will have ALL the privleges and services they have ALWAYS had! Period.

PLUS...., DNForum has ADDED VALUE to the Platinum membership, at ZERO additional charge, for heavens sake, incluing some access to certain forums on Exclusive!

Then, to TOP IT OFF, they are GIVING YOU, for FREE, a complete, 30 day TRIAL to the new, upgrade level. Did I mention it was free?

You are LOSING NOTHING. You are GAINING VALUE for no cost. And.... IF YOU WANT, you can move even further up in stature and access and security..... and become an Exclusive member.

I can see why a few people are ranting and raving! I would not want all those extras for free either, LOL!

Get a grip, take a deep breath, and try to understand- all of this is to help you become more successful, IF and ONLY if, you desire it! Your words, your thoughts, your feelings ARE being listened to and taken into account!

Peace..... from a future Exclusive Member!
WebCat

PS- if your hands are STILL shaking, please re-read what I wrote above one more time! Then chug a couple of Heinekens! :)

LewR, the new memberships do not take anything away from the Platinums. Platinums will always be the major membership here. Exclusives are there for the people who want more out of this forum. DCG has spent a lot of money on some of the features that will be located in that section. It's not like he just created a couple more sections and raised the price. Give it a little time, please, it's all we ask.

We are actually talking about adding to the Platinum memberships as well, so you will not be losing anything, as we have been saying, but actually gaining. Since this thread is dedicated to Exclusive memberships, if you want to start another thread, and tell us how we can improve the Platinum memberships, that would be fine, and we would look at each suggestion.

Thanks

Why can't they be called Executive.....I agree that it makes the 'normal platinum' members seem untrustworthy...like Exclusive is for all the pros and platinum is now for the scamming domain-bums, if you will

This account has been renamed about 4 or 5 times. Exclusive was the most approved version. It doesn't mean untrustworthy at all and has nothing to do with trust value.

That was a nice fast edit....LOL

Since you are not reading my posts correctly, there is no sense in posting here.

Good Luck with your endeavors.

If this statement was made because you see many mods in this thread supporting the new features, well we are supporting them because we see them as great enhancements to an already super forum. That's why we chose to apply for, or stay in, mod positions, we like the direction Adam is taking the forum. So it stands to reason our comments are going to be supportive of the new additions and counter ones that aren't. Your comment implies that the current mods don't like helping people or care about our community. You are mistaken.

I guess it's a good idea to have one single place where members can post their feedback regarding the new Exclusive membership and read those of others instead of chasing after half a dozen threads here and there.

I think that instead to offer a life time option it would be better to offer 3 and 6 months executive options (and with a very, very low
overprice in comparison to the yearly fee).

The 30 days trial period is appreciated but might be not sufficient for many to take a final decision and the yearly fee might bee a too high obstacule for most.

With shorter executive mebership option you will offer to more people the opportunity to try it for a reasonably long period with a reasonably low investment.

also once you have been "certified" as executive once even with a 3 month plan you would keep this state also when down grading to premium.

Thanks,

I think the main feature of being "exclusive" is being "verified". This should be a free feature for Platinum users. It should also be a requirement.

I guess time will tell. The way I see it, the exclusive forums will be busy over the next month, but will die off at the end of september. Then shortly after that we will see a bunch of forum changes again.

Of course, I might decide to jump on board with Exclusive membership. But that will only happen if I can sell some more domains to pay for it.

Exclusive Membership= Value added services to members "willing" to pay for it.

There were sooooooo many people who doubted GregR that the paid membership structure would never work. Priceless.

Now we have some saying that the "Exclusive Membership" structure will not work.

I wonder when people will realize that to get the best experience on the internet you must pay for it.

izopodian philosophy: Most likely in any situation you will have two competing choices to make a decision on. People that can't make up their minds usually come up with reasons why everyone shouldn't choose the "road less traveled" so they don't have to...

It's true.

wow - one sees the light ....one doesn't have to upgrade....question is, does one need the additional features, like knowing which name someone actually would pay money for ? mmmhhh ....guess one does not need this new feature ....;one learned it in the last 4 years (at least that's what one thought before one joined this exclusive ? club...) ...guess case closed ...bottom line : no-one really has to upgrade...

The moderators here keep to be knocking the same statement 'you are losing nothing'.

Perhaps in what is available to us, but how many platinum members actually visit the gold section? Some of the big dealers might just move to exclusive. The entire 'prestige' of platinum is lost, which I believe is the main issue.

Person> I am selling domain
AhmedF> Hi [platinum member]
Person> hrmmmmm

While one may argue that the status quo will remain, its easy to see that this is just another case of separation. The richer keep making their own little elite circles .....

And the name does not help either ... 'exclusive'. I am sorry, but that was an asinine choice ... its the cliche classes again.

Ahh .. high school all over again. I just do not have the 'dough' to hang with the rich jocks and hot chicks.

Leave it to Attilio, the much honored savior of the infamous ouch.com, to come up with another good perspective and very good idea!

Attilio, you are obviously a thinkin' man!, LOL!
