I paid, didn't I?

It was worth it for me....I dont really have anything against exclusive, except I am too small of a player to need / afford it. However, I will wait to judge until after the free trail....after I sell Fast-Autos I will have the cash available....if I want to put more money into this forum - we will wait and see...

Your ""analysis"" is just silly. Look at the minimal advertising on DS. The mods of DS are not trying to run a business but a community.

They were offered an astounding amount by Adam but declined for those reasons.

I dont understand what the big deal is ...Most of the people here will have no use for the "exclusive" area anyways (including me).

There isnt anything in exclusives that interest me ..EXCEPT.. new buyers.. I want new buyers..people with money..

I could care less if I am "exclusive" material to anyone.. I want access to people with the money looking for good domains...

and that is what Adam is trying to do here create an area for those types of money people ....that dont like to crapped on everytime they say something in the regular threads..they simply want an area where they can yack about things that are important to them without all of use telling them there panties are on too tight..:D .. these people are willing to pay the extra for a secluded space...

if providing them that space means that they will join DNF then that means I will have opportunities everyday to have my names in front of these people.. and every so often..they will like what they see and will buy.. from each other, from me and from you..

I could care less about trickle up.. I want trickle down.. I want them coming to me..because I dont have access to them by any other means on a daily basis.. and neither do most of you.

You can bitch all you want about things you percieve you are losing..

but weigh that against what you may gain...

dont close any doors until you at least take a look..

Will the exclusives area work.. I have no idea.. but I do see the potential ..If this is what needs to be done to get people in then lets get the ball rolling..if it turns out to be nothing more than a bunch of snobs that are afraid to rub elbows with the rest of us.. I 'll certainly be the first to say ..

piss on this..

I dont mind the pissing and moaning to some extent..but dont go all radical without seeing how it works out..

remember how we went through this the last time ..and everything worked out just fine..

But in the mean time all you big spenders get over here and help me fund my hillbilly vacation coming next month :)

That's not the point, its happening to often now and the changes are not needed.

Stop trying to sqeeze more money from members which are loyal, in the long run you will only lose them....

The pricing structure is getting a joke.

There's a "sucking" sound as people keep trying to bait the mods into some pointless debates and strange theories. Like I said, the only problem I have is that this forum is getting fairly complicated to navigate and understand. Despite RealName's comment about just hitting "View New Posts", I know from experience that you can still miss stuff by just going straight to "new" posts time after time. Only time will tell if "Exclusive" will be worthwhile. I had many technical "consumer" questions though that all the cyclical wrangling doesn't seem to have even tried to approach.

#1. Where do the lists come from and what are they comprised of? Next (same question) are the names dropping THAT DAY, the NEXT, or in 3 Days? How's that work.
#2. Who are doing the appraisals and generating certificates? What are the credentials and experience of those who determine these prices?
#3. What is the signficance of "DNFORUM.com will buy for $$$$ if Caught in drop". There needs to be a plain English description of what this service is. As it stands, there is nothing to make a decision off of. What method is DNForum using the catch drops? Should people use this service in leiu of using drop-services, or is it similar to some back-order services that will use many means (and other services) to acquire a name. Specifics needed.
#4. "Find products that can be drop shipped for you", this is a nice thought. I'm wondering who is running this feature. Is it a regular reporting of new sources, is it left up to the Excusive members to just "share" with each other? Is it connected to World Wide Brands? Unclear.
#5. The "pro customer service" forums need to be clarified. Is it just an area to talk with other Exclusive members that use services like these? Outsourcing customer service options for entrepeneurs? I'd like a better clearer description.

I'd rather everyone ignored the SAME QUESTIONS and COMPLAINTS that keep recirculating. It's poluting this thread with so much smoke I haven't heard very many clear things being talked about.

Thanks.

Nexus ... These are the types of questions that we are looking for. Adam can best answer this, and I will point him to this post if he doesn't find it. :)

Nexus - I use both DS and DNF and DS benefited from the membership plans that were introduced here as most members didnt see the need to pay for a membership fee - I was speaking (writing) the obvious, not bashing anyone or anything :)

But this is not the topic at hand, so please all posts should be about the concern for feedback on the Exclusive membership and what everybodies feedback is, it shouldn't matter if you criticize the plans, whats needed is how to make it something that will indeed make the plan "Exclusive"

Here's where I stand on the issue.

I've neer paid to be a member of a forum.

I pay not $15, but $50 for the membership and I don't regret buying it as it was a worthy investment. I've made the membership fee off 50x+ over since May. But I can't really be honest if I don't say this place is sort of dying down in regards to forum activity and buyers and stuff. Maybe it's just like a smack in the face and it's annoying to see that were not getting everything. And that there's now better out there, and I paid for the best. I would have like to have seen these features come free in order to brighten things up here and keep members wanting to come back here. But overall the census isn't great about the executive members. Just be aware of that and try to make some extra benefits for plat's and gold's in order to keep us happy. As it wouldn't be hard to give us access to the lists, or one of the features from the exclusives. Just an idea to smooth over the expansion of these forums.

Thanks,
Jordan

** Feedback **

How about removing the "exclusive" threads from our view so we don't have to scroll down to see the active threads?

the lifetime thing is also stupid....if something happens to the forum or the admin, we are left out in the cold.

If you were giving free drops and such, than $400 would be a great investment....but charging $400 just to have access is robbery....

I wonder how Adam can sleep at night after doing this.... $1100 to have a membership in a forum, LOL

I am going to let my Platinum membership expire (no, I dont have a lifetime one, lol) and I dont think I will renew...but thats still 1/2 a year away from happening....by that time we will have 23 different levels, one named after each metallic element, and we will have had 4 different leaders who each change thngs around so they get richer....

I have never sold a name at dnf and made little if any effort to do so. I come to the forums for 3 reasons, improve my domain knowledge and possible domain buys (not to sell), and gain overall knowledge to help develop my many websites.

Since I am a BUYER and site developer (my own sites), not a Domain Seller, I will not be upgrading as many of the new benefits are mostly targeted toward sellers it seems.

However, at the same time I do feel left out, overlooked and non-appreciated as IMO the ones here who are buyers should be able to access all forums, features and benefits. That's why I originally paid to be Platinum, to get maximum benefits for a 1 yr period, not for 1/2 yr.

The Exclusive Benefits sound great and seem very well done and valuable. A good job by DCG thinking of them.

For a heavy, serious seller like Duke for example (also with a good portfolio), I am sure is well worth the extra money. But for me it not so, especially since I am not a typical seller.

I will be looking at other options instead of upgrading here for such a high price. Thank you.

P.S. With all the different levels of membership and the high costs I think DNF will become even more a forum of sellers trying to sell to other sellers. Non-reseller type of buyers may become even rarer than they already are.

I will say this...

DCG is to be commended for his work, adding everything to these forums, he added games, good ways to spend DNF$, live support and lots of other goodies. I think he is an amazing business person and knows how to satisfy his customers (us members). He was also very smart to give the platinum members a free trial to this exclusive program. This is the best way to ensure everyone gets a risk-free chance to see if the forum is for them. My only thinking is that if 30 people sign up for exclusive, those forums will slowly die out....because you know what a forum is like when it has 30 eligable members....

But I still must give Adam 'props' for the recent developments....now, off I go to the games room to play some solo pong....lol

I do not like the idea of a new level above platinum or the extremely high price for this new level. I also think the lifetime membership thing is jumping the gun. 3 Years is an eternity online.

If I was Adam, I would focus on bolstering the ad revenues due to increasing the loyality of platinum members. Its not exactly cheap to advertise on here, guys. I mean DNF could become (if its not there already) the leading gateway for domain related traffic. Doesn't ad revenue offset some of the expenses for these new services?

This should also convince some of those 2267 Bronze members (compared to only 431 Platinum and just 242 Gold) to upgrade to Platinum. In other words, make Platinum special instead of watering it down.

In the end though its Adam's call and not ours. That said, I will continue to enjoy my Platinum membership since I will probably not get the Exclusive anytime soon :). To me, Platinum has been more than worth it and I will renew when the time comes. I also look forward to trying out the new exclusive features for a month. I think offering that trial to Platinum members was the best move out of this whole thing so far.
